I agree we need to get rid of raffa but who would we get and more importantly who would want to come here do we want alladice back don't think any of the prem managers would want to do we go abroad not for me so we need to support the team and not the manager let's all get behind then till the end of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Carlon, I think youv'e hit the nail on the head. I have serious reservations about Benitez ability to progress the club and am concerned that unless we don't start winning games we may end up in a relegation dog fight. If it does come to that I don't think Benitez style of management would necessarily be good enough to keep us up. As for a new manager coming in to replace Benitez I do agree we would struggle to get anyone in on the short term that we could all agree on. Should Benitez be replaced then my preference would be for Dunc to take over on the short term. We know he would get a positive response form both the players and the fans in the short term and that may be enough to keep us up if needed.

Calron your OP makes sense on paper as it were, however there are 2 factors needed before the fans come into the equation, the first is . . . The players finally buy into Rafas's management style and the second, Rafa and his tactics grind out enough results?

I not we will not be the most attractive proposition for a new manager but we are Everton and how much more attractive do you think we would be if Rafa takes us down?

Also based on his first 5 months and the last 12 games in particular why on earth should we think that Rafa is the right man to lead a long term project with us?

He isn't a manager for modern football and we have to change sooner rather than later.

Football management is a little world of its own. Their will be managers out there who are well known and think reputation alone will get them the job (we’ve had a few of them) , and managers who want to take the next step (have had a couple of them too) .
I personally would like the second option, younger manager with fresh ideas, let’s face it half these hangers on are going to be gone in the summer, ideal time to make the change.
We have a goalkeeper who in goalkeeping years is quite young. We have two young fullbacks, we have two young centre halves in Branthwaite and Godfrey. Two young wide players in Grey and Gordon, and young strikers in Richy and DCL.
What we lack is a midfield, and that’s where you need the experience. A player or players to knit the attack and defence together. That is we’re we should be focusing our recruitment on right now.
But to make it work you need a good man manager, someone who shows his passion in every game and can motivate the players to play at a higher level,
Footballers are just like the rest of us, give them a bit of praise and support and you get improvement. Confidence is a wonderful think, you get them playing with confidence and believing in themselves and their team mates and you have a team.
But to do that you have to have the right manager. He is out there, we just haven’t found him yet.

Agreed Woburn mate.

Good post Woburnblue. Midfield is definitely our problem, too many defensive players and lacking in creativity. Problem is that Rafa's style is a defensive one so can't see us getting any creative snd attacking midfielder in soon, they are also very expensive.

Sensible positive post Woburn. I would also like an experienced CB to be honest one that can hold his place and organise the defence while the younger lads get more experienced. PS when you find the coach we are looking for please give Moshiri a bell and let him know who it is as clearly the club management haven't got a clue.

Think Woburn is right. let's get through this s**t show, and hopefully we survive. In the meantime the club should be targeting who they want to bring in come the summer.
I would go for Potter on the proviso he brings Bassouma with him.

Good post Woburn. Rafa has proved to me he is not the one for Everton, neither short or long term. If relegation becomes a possibility then he has got to go before it becomes a reality and hope Ferguson can keep us clear. If Ferguson would like the job full permanently he should have left a year ago, got managers job elsewhere, just as Gerrard did with Rangers. Players need a kick up the backside but also a pat on the back.
