Not a bad farewell message.

However to say in it doesn’t want to get into a war of words then clearly ends with a dig at Benítez somewhat sours it.

We’ll never know the true story of what happened, be it disagreement over tactics or his insistence on missing training to go back and forth to France.

Not sure either come out of it well.

Anyway time to move on now he’s gone.

Let’s just hope myolenko can build on his promising debut.

I know who I believe Dan and it'snot the manager with a history of falling out with people / players

Digne deserves to be remembered well by us - not sullied by a bully.

Shame that a large amount of Evertonians will back Rafa in this and say “well Digne has been a rubbish signing anyway, forget the stats and the first 95% of games he played for us, he had 4 bad games this season so he’s rubbish”.

Don’t want to use the word “shill” but it’s hard not to in some ways.

Does it really matter, he’s gone and good luck to him with Villa, any boss worth his salt will have the last word, paying someone 100k every Thursday! should be loyal to the cause and the club, if every soldier disagrees with the tactics of his generals then we would be doomed.

This isn’t a war. But as your using that analogy. It has been proven throughout history that great dictators do not make great leaders, and at some point their troops lose faith in them and their tactics.

It's easy to blame the manager, especially for all those that want him gone. Personally, I don't think either of them come out of this particularly well. Digne can have a moan about Rafa all he likes but he shouldn't be making out it wasn't his choice. He asked to leave and he's now got his wish. Can't help but think they were empty words in his statement, if he really loved the club and the fans then why didn't he fight to regain his place? Especially with the manager being a few games away from the boot?

Exactly, BP. It’s usually the way when a player ask to leave and then finish with a parting shot, “way off the mark”, most of the teams are that played against Everton including Brighton Potter targeted our left side, Digne has struggled for a while now to successfully compete, any way he’s gone now and good luck to him.
