Can't see us getting much more than 6 points between now and the end of the season.

We have been mismanaged and fed rubbish for years. Gone are the days when we were relevant in this division and we probably don't deserve to stay in it.

Managers and players will come and go. Some will become heroes and some will be derided. As an Evertonian all I really want are people willing to bust a gut for us on the pitch. We don't seem to have many of those at the moment though.

So if we go down then one of two things will happen. Either free fall to League 1 and be like Sunderland or rebuild and maybe in 2-3 seasons be financially stable and ready to return.

We gambled on a billionaire owner who had no clue about running a club and it's failed. New stadium doesn't placate me, promises that lessons will be learned doesn't either. In all honesty most true blues fans knew this was going to be a disaster from day one.

If it happens then we have to stick with Everton Football Club and rise above the flack we'll take from other supporters.

WE are Everton, WE will always be there, WE won't desert even if the worst happens.

Our patience has been tested since Howard's days but we always stick together and are always proud to say we're blue noses.

NSNO.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not sure you will free fall into oblivion mate. I just don’t understand how you lot can be so doom & feckin gloom with so many games to go? You still have an excellent chance of staying up but have already thrown in the towel. How can you say ‘we’re proud to be blue’ with such a negative Nigel attitude. Have some faith. The players may rally, results may go your way and good fortune may positively guide you through turbulent waters. I must say mate your attitude stinks there’s absolutely no way I’d want you in the trenches with me!

Faith is belief in something you cannot prove such as the ability of the current set up to garner points. The club is full of players who have performed well at this level. The question for me is whether they have the organisation and confidence to play to their ability. I think the organisation must come first. It is hard to recover confidence in a series of defeats. Sadly there is precious little sign of the organisation.

Ed066 I think it’s because in the first 7 games they got approx 14 points, in the next 22 approx 12 points. (I can’t remember the totals of the top of my head) so I get the doom and gloom.

Hopefully they get something on the weekend but the place needs to be rocking.

{Ed0666's Note - I just feel the guy Lampard needs to have the courage to drop some players and play players on merit. For me Grai is a starter. Give El Ghazi a start see what he brings? Have the courage to drop DCL & maybe even Dacoure. Give braithwaite a go and don’t drop him next game…change the system, surprise them opposition. Fight for your top flight status show the fans you care

I agree, lamps just plays the same players, it's broken but he just goes again almost the same players. Just wish he'd risk something different, it can't be any worse!

WY, Goodison rocks consistently mate it's the proverbial bear pit for opponents, however when you put 'teddy bears' up against visiting opportunists the cover is blown, as in 1 nil down and I am talking Yogi and Boo Boo. . . passion backbone and bit between the teeth etc. is what is needed .

Ed 666 I won't disagree with you as you are fundamentally correct imo, i'm hoping the recent vote of confidence from FM and BK was in reality a demand by them to change it round a bit mate.
Here's hoping anyway .

{Ed0666's Note - mate I wish all the teams down there good luck in your fight for survival but I personally think another two defeats and franks toast. The Everton hierarchy have got to be looking at a contingency plan just in case.

That's exactly what's needed is a bit of fight, the players need to give you some hope though.

As for lamps, he is stuck in the mindset of not daring to twist, because if it goes wrong it's on him. He is playing it safe and hoping something will work. Or that there will be three worse teams then him.

Everyone is writing you off in these last 9 games, but there is only the watford game, that on paper, you would be expected to win the rest are free hits.

Personally I would have given it to Duncan to the end of the season, and while tactically not the best he would of given the fans hope and a bit of bite in games. Plus you could of used the summer to reassess and work out the best foot forward, instead your possibly looking at another manager get a chunk of compensation.

I hope you don't go down, would much rather Burnley, Watford and Norwich go but it's going to be one he'll of a scrap.

WY, Cheers mate I am assuming that you are born and bred Merseyside mate like myself.
Only a lot of London et al 'Reds' would love to see us relegated, with me it's been jumpers for goalposts to the present day both teams in the top flight and I wouldn't have it any other way personally.

Unfortunately I'm not from Merseyside mate. Most of the reds that want to see you down are either kids or not thinking it through.

The Derby would be a huge loss to the city as well as the league and Everton should be a big part of the league. Banter is all well and good but the impact it would have on the fans as well as employees isn't something I'd want to see.

08 Apr 2022 11:20:57
Too true and kudos to you mate.

08 Apr 2022 17:03:38
I'm not from Merseyside either buddy, but I can safely say I don't want Everton to get relegated.
As one of our biggest rivals it may be humorous to see ye struggling. Let's be fair, ye boys love it when Liverpool are struggling too!

But there is no way I'd prefer to be playing Burnley on MNF than Everton!

Personally I think Lampard was the wrong appointment but ye boys just have to keep the support going. A blue mate of mine flew over for the Arsenal game a few months back (we're irish) and he said he never felt an atmosphere like it before. Goodison will be the key to ye staying up.
