Is there any news on the on/ off takeover from Kenyon and co? Not that it will make much difference to our predicament with FFP! Also, can somebody please explain how Barcelona can sign players left right and centre despite being up to their eyes in dept? These FFP rules are being made up as the big clubs move along.

I'm certainly no expert but Barcelona have sold and loaned out loads the last 2 years. Messi was 4mil a month in wages alone. They do have a stadium 3 x the size of ours and a revenue that we can only dream of. Probably still in a tight spot but they can do a lot to counter ffp issues in 2 years when we really are stuck as we don't earn enough other than tv money. It does seem the big clubs just plough on though maybe we are forgetting Chelsea having a transfer ban? So perhaps it's slightly sour grapes on our part?

I heard a report that Barcelona need to sell and make £3 for every £1 they spend.

Genuinely have no idea why anyone is bothered about other clubs ffp issues or non issues as the case may be.

We only need to be concerned by our own ffp issues and how badly the club has wasted money on poor managerial appointments and shocking recruitment.

What any other club does has no impact on our situation.

I'm sure I heard they had re-structured some big loan deal they had not long ago which should have helped their spending.
Most likely just kicking the can a bit further down the road.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely smit..

Also La liga and Premier League have different approaches to Ffp. Pretty sure La Liga set out how much a club can spend at the start of a season, which gives everyone a lot more clarity straight off.

{Ed002's Note - They have a similar approach but the PL have not been as strict as they should have been.}

Revs:- There has been much talk of investment in our football club recently – even takeovers – but I want to clarify that there is no ‘for sale’ sign currently hanging outside Everton Football Club.

It will always be pragmatic to explore all potential investment opportunities and, as I have been transparent about, I am focused on completing the financing for our fantastic new stadium as well as strengthening the playing squad and that might include a minority investment. That will continue.

But I want to reassure all of you that Everton Football Club is not for sale.
