We were bad again mates, and members who say friendlies are nothing, have never played the game at a high standard, you play your hart out to impress your manager, and members who say Frank kept us up, wake up, if we had won the last 4/ 5 games you can say he kept us up, other results kept us up, Frank has no idea.

Agree5 Disagree0

Nice bit of positivity from you there Stig.

Of course friendly results mean nothing - do you think Liverpool were bothered by being beaten 4-0 by Utd? Think not.
Did our 22-0 victory in 2018 against some minnows make us win the league? No of course not.

Friendlies are a chance to assess squad and try pairings and formations out, it’s not about the result.

Clearly there’s still work to be done by Frank and he will ultimately stay in a job based on results - if he can’t now see who shouldn’t start then will only be his own fault.

However shouldn’t judge until we actually start the league and see how it goes.

Whilst these pre season results are disheartening they haven’t cost us any points in the league and we’re currently still on the same points as every other team in the league!

In all honesty I have never known us to have a good pre season and then go on to have a good start to the season. Seems the worse pre season we have the better start to the season we have, on this showing I may get my bet in early to win the EPL.

{Ed025's Note - good luck with that gibbo mate..

The biggest concern for me was starting with a back 4 but played wing backs so high as if we had a back 3, was it
1. A tactical decision by frank and he either didn't care or wasn't aware of the amount of space left in behind.
2. He planned for other players to drop in and cover but they didn't.
3. The fullbacks where supposed to be deeper but lack tactical awareness or simply did as they pleased.
Either way its not good especially when we've got 1 of the best fullbacks in prem history on the coaching staff.

That’s the spirit Gibbo ?
However I’d maybe go for a top half finish than winning the league.

Long time lurker. hello all.
How people can be on Frank's back already is beyond me. He's had 5 months, a demoralised and dsyfunctional squad and is only in his first transfer window. The squad he has inherited is poor and we appear to have a limited budget. I doubt the love child of Pep and Klopp would get a tune out of us currently. Frank may or may not turn out to be the answer but so far I'm impressed by his enthusiasm, commitment and approach. He deserves a decent run before writing him off. Are we going to sack every manager who fails to turn us around within half a season? If he isn't the answer, who would be in our current position?
