Hi fellow blue’s, some thoughts or opinions on the following : If we sold DCL for £60-70 mil and could guarantee all the funds (plus whatever we actually have from the Richy sale) could be used to fund new purchases and wages etc… say Cornet and a couple of others that Frank wants, what do you folks think?

Agree3 Disagree0

Get the feeling dcl doesn't want to stay anyhow, but it's a big IF we could reinvest the money, I'd say yes if we could, but things just aren't that straightforward!

It's a rock and a hard place decision, as by selling DCL we make ourselves massively weaker and less attractive to other players we might want to sign. However, if we gambled and brought in any of say Cornet, Gibbs-White and maybe someone like Michy Batshuayi along with Gallagher (if they'd be convinced to come) then that might be a good window. The main problem is that new signings can't entirely fix the problems exposed once again by last night's drubbing. A lack of balls, effort and guile from several members of the squad and a losing mentality sweeping across too many of the team. DCL's potential to score or bag a lucky goal are one of the few hopes we have for the season!

No. When fit DCL is a goal scorer. We cannot afford to lose that.

Agree bt, we have few enough strikers as it is.

My thoughts go one way then the next, for me DCL is a quality player no doubts at all, problem is I think he needs quality service to get the best out of him, he isn’t the ‘create chance yourself’ kind of striker and therefore becomes wasted in our team!
If we could get him the service then game on, if we ain’t going down that route then Is take the cash and go a different route if we could .
Either way I hope we get what we need b4 the window shuts ?.

I think we desperately need a number 6 to break up opposition, then play Dele behind DCL, with Gray and Gordon on the wings backed up Doucs playing box to box not so bad. I would break the bank for Amadou Onana, Sandro Tonali (please please) , cheaper options of Romeo Lavia from City, and left field choice of David Ayala for £3m from Portland Timbers.

{Ed001's Note - Lavia is hardly a cheap option as Southampton paid over 11m for him about 2 weeks ago.}

Sorry missed that Ed have to keep better attention in future, I'll do lines but please no detention.

{Ed001's Note - lines? I don't think we are allowed to encourage drug usage on here mate.}
