Ok so here's my take on lack of transfer activity. Think the club are looking at their options. Who they can buy and who they can loan.
Let's say option one for midfield is Gallagher, but have to wait to see if Chelsea will let him go. So they then have Gilmore or Winks as other options, but can't commit till they know what Chelsea decide.
In attack say option one was Broja, but again they have to wait for a decision from Chelsea. So option two might be Cornet.
Now regardless as to whether these are loans or purchases they still have to wait on Chelsea making their mind up.
While doing this we are still trying to offload the likes of Gomes, who clearly has no future at the club, and who's wages remain a problem.
Only my theory and just using these players as examples so no hissy fits please.

{Ed025's Note - here’s my take Woburn…we have not got a pot to piss in mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha was the first thing that came into my head halfway through reading the post.

Even the Ukrainians are having a whip round on Friday, to do Donate to our transfer budget.

{Ed025's Note - love it baz..

Ed think we have money, just not a lot. So purchases have to be right. Imagine buying Wicks and then seeing Gallagher being made available for same money.
Plus as I said still trying to offload Gomes and possibly Allan. If they go it gives the club a little more wiggle room. So could still be outs before ins.

{Ed025's Note - it could well be Woburn. It’s more to do with FFP though mate which is hampering us..

25 Jul 2022 16:34:08
Gallagher not coming. Cornet is a no without finding that pot Ed refers to. How about this for left field: we all know Usmanov had his tentacles in our Club (still has) , Mr Moshri may have had a call saying the piper needs paying.

{Ed025's Note - who knows DFS? Whatever the score is mate it’s left us in a precarious position mate..

25 Jul 2022 16:44:07
Dfs I did say I was using these players as examples. Try reading the post correctly before you try being smart mate.

25 Jul 2022 17:21:56
As Woburn says selling the likes of Gomes and Allan is key to who we can bring in. Our FFP situation will have greatly improved by getting rid of Sigg, Delph and Tosun. That was 300k a week straight away.

{Ed025's Note - you must also factor in the fee as well brass mate..

25 Jul 2022 17:23:45
Maybe you should have read it all first Reg?

25 Jul 2022 17:43:48
I did and still found it funny?‍♂️.

25 Jul 2022 18:00:45
Nice one Woburn ??.

25 Jul 2022 18:32:22
Being smart! Wow! Was giving my take on it. Tell you what, don't need my 15 minutes. Last straw.

Ed we've just sold Richy for 60m, if we could get 10 for Gomes and 10 for Allan then their would be money to spend. And would like to think the players coming in would be on less wages than the lot we have just gotten rid of.

{Ed025's Note - the £60m for Richy went into last season’s debt and stopped us falling foul of FFP brass…otherwise we would be starting with a 6 point deficit mate. We can spend a small amount but don’t be expecting any big names..

25 Jul 2022 21:19:14
Don't expect 10mil for gomes either ?????.

25 Jul 2022 22:33:26
Well I’m glad it gave you all a laugh. Obviously misunderstood I thought this was a banter site.
But I bow to all your expertise guys. But unlike you I am not ready to give up just yet.

26 Jul 2022 11:51:16
I understand that ed, and think that is what Woburn was getting at mate.

{Ed025's Note - yeah brass we are still in a bit of a pickle financially but if frank can knock the boys into shape and add a couple of faces then you never know mate..
