DCL out for an indefinite period and we only have Rondon to replace him. Despite his attitude is lack of pace will not trouble premiership defences, so we're left with playing Dele as a false 9, which may work occasionally but is never a permanent solution.
Ok let's do the comparison with the two strikers we have been linked with : Batyshuiyi from Chelsea - 28 years of age, probably costing between £8-10m, been on loan for the last 4 years and hasn't pulled up any roots in terms of goals scored. And Chelsea will see our situation and drag out any move until after Saturday's match.
Max Cornet, 25 years of age, made and immediate impact in goals scored and chances created, playing in a defence minded set up, has speed, skill and strength allowing to play across the front line, we have the inside information on his temperament from former colleagues McNeil and Tarky and cost to us would be £17m.
Having reported that personal terms have been agreed, we have tried to buy him on the drip.
Doing the maths Bathyshui wages would be £80k+ per week against Cornet's reported £68k, over a year that equates to c£7m more for the Chelsea man over 3 years he would cost us c£14m than Cornet.
Therefore, no brainier grasp the nettle and buy Cornet in time for Saturdays game and push to get get Gomes, Allan, Gbamin and Holgate/ Mina during the remain of the transfer period.

I agree, Max Cornet is a good player who can be great. Everton need him, I fear we will loose him like so many players in the past and live to regret it.

Any deal would need to be done by Thursday for them to be in the squad for Saturday.
Bats is useless as a loan striker so count him out.
Cornet is a winger/ wide forward.

May as well cut Moise Keans loan short and that's a frightening thought.

Also need to have the money available to pay Spurs when Ali has played so many games don’t they.

Thought the strategic review sorted all this out. IE: proactive instead of reactive. We have done well with those that have come in, so you would suppose the next step of central/ backup striker would have been well in hand! 3 days away!

This was always going to happen. We need a centre forward a proper striker. Cornet a wonderful signing he may be is not a centre forward. We have been so light for a long time of a proper centre forward. Even Ricky wasn't a replacement at cf. Its amateur hour this was always going to be our demise.

It’s not ideal but then reports now say DCL is out for around a month
Rondon not the answer but could do a job late in games from the bench short term as I think the Spanish interest in him has gone
Cornet could be a better option than others maybe do a good job up too short term until DCL is back if we don’t want to play Dele as the false 9
Hope some miracle is worked somewhere though as we are right in it now.

Not saying I wouldn't prefer Cornet if the figures reported in trashy papers and websites are accurate, but not sure I follow your maths there Fancy. Batsy £12k a week more equates to £624k a year difference (so less than £2m over a 3 year period) . The £7m a year figure you give I can't even work out how you got to that!

Glad you raised that TD, that’s some J. P Morgan accountancy right there! ?.
