Watching England U21's vs Serbia, playing really well dominated 1st half scored 3 could of been 6. Pressing defence as soon as the player receives the ball, fast incisive passing always to man in space, direct running with ball, instinctive shooting.
Really entertaining to watch would actually pay to watch them, usually asleep by halfway watching Internationals. Proper impressed by Lee Carsley's tactics and philosophy. Reading article how he explains his philosophy of players playing the space whether with or without the ball, and how has players play a role rather than a position for the team. Hence how he had Garner playing Right-back but actually playing as a midfielder.
As I'm typing this it's now 4-1. Really need to look at Carsley as SD's successor.

Do remember that he has different / more resources (mainly players) available to him and he’s playing teams that are nowhere near the finished article.
Throw him in with our lot and it would not be long until the vultures started circling.
Maybe if he got some championship experience under his belt next.

As well as Carsley is doing, it is a totally different set of circumstances and surroundings, no day to day running or financial restrictions with very little to no pressure on him, his style and philosophy is to be admired but this is also drilled into them at younger age groups within the national set-up.
He has the cream of the youth players to pick, all backed by the FA through the ages and fantastic facilities at St George's with a clear structure in place making it as easy as possible to transition from each age group
For him to turn up in premiership with no day to day management, transfer dealing experience and with the circus we are at the moment is a big big ask.
Imo he as said would be better off cutting his cloth lower league or he will get swallowed up like Frank and the rest of the young inexperienced managers who just straight in.

Interesting points of view on Carsley. I like him a lot as a manager. Maybe one day? . I'm quite happy with dyche at the moment.
Carsley as a player use to frustrate me at times. That being said I appreciate him far more now as he always gave 200 percent, far more than some of our players have given over the last few seasons! Have to say for now at least I can see some fruits of recovery. Feel we have better options now and the playing squad is slowly going in the right direction. Very happy with branthwaite garner and Harrison. Then we have the usual performers in dacoure tarks pickford mcneil etc. Dcl seems to be (fingers crossed) finding his form. Beto and danjuma I think there will be more to come. I'm quite optimistic for the rest of the season. I think we will frustrate at times (see Luton home! ) but I think it will be a much better season.
On another positive note I am thankful that we have got rid of the likes of Davies, iwobi etc etc.

For me Ron it all depends where we are as a club,
Carsley a good call but for me if we are on a reset as a club and been relegated, as is Schumacher at Plymouth.
Think Dyche here for at least 18months yet as don't see much changing anytime soon and then could see us going down the Rooney road if he does ok at Birmingham, not that I am championing it but seems a natural route.

Conjecture but why not Baines once his stripes are earned. Besides Dyche is our Manager.
