Ashley Young has been a very good player, in his time, but sorry to say, that time is over, or at least coming to an end.
Bringing him in as an experienced player, to come on for the last part of a game to see it out, I see that might have some merits, but as a regular starter, at 38, sorry he knowlonger has the legs to do that, not even once a week, much less twice.
Our manager has some very good qualities, but seem to have a blind spot, when it comes to former players, Mikel Keane being a prime example.

I do partially agree with you. I think Ashley Young is a fantastic squad player. I have no problem with him starting but the manager does need to realise when he is tiring.
I do think Patterson needs to start more games and become the 1st choice RB by January and if he's not then what is the point in having him? May as well put him up for sale.

If he can get to SD fitness then I guess he probably does edge out the other 2. I still think it's time to make Patts the main man for his own development. And Coleman as understudy, it'll be a morale boost just to have him on bench. And then Young can be used as more of a utility sub and give a little more cover and rest to some of the players who get flogged. Maybe one of the GKs spot on the bench will finally be under threat?
