Hey all, just want to wish everyone all the best for the coming season. While I'm hoping our recruitment isn't over yet I'm satisfied with the direction and age profile we're bringing in. They are young hungry and feel they have something to prove.
Fingers crossed we get off to a good start and don't have to deal with an external issues of unjust deductions like last year. It would be nice to have a year where we can concentrate on football and hopefully any potential relegation worries are a thing of the past.
I look forward to reading and enjoying the usual banter on here.
Take care all.

Don’t think there are any hungry footballers.

Well we can only hope that SD has enough confidence in the new players to play them from the start. A team with Young and Keane playing does not give me much confidence. I think that even Doucoure is past his best and should be on the bench. Hope that I am wrong, maybe it's just me being a nervous nellie, we will see tomorrow.

They all helped in keeping us up last year mate.

I know a few others left too but basically the 3 in or around the match days who left were Gomes Godfrey Onana and we have bought in 4 who should also be match day representative O'Brien Lindstrom Ndiaye and the young lad from Villa. From what I've seen Lindstrom and Ndiaye are the only 2 who really make us stronger. Our defence arguably is weaker due to the extra age of the LB and RB and the possibility still to lose Branthwaite. Our midfield is improved so long as Dukes can maintain himself and hopefully improve on an injury hit season. Our front line is also technically better as we now have 4 strikers DCL Maupay Ndiaye Beto. I'm sure a few changes before window shuts but the point I'm making is we are not much better than we were last season, yet some on here are convinced we'll witness a massive revolution instead of what stats say will be a mild evolution. Hold on to ya hats and those who support from the old lady, it's your duty to be raucous for more than just the last 10 games.

Firstly if we stay out of financial trouble I can see an 8 point improvement on last season already.
Regarding the playing staff there’s definitely improvement from what I’ve seen pre season from a craft point of view.
But the reality that hits the hardest for me is that unless we have a stark change of tactics we will do no better than last season. SD is just not a winner, he’s a survivor.
