Sell DCL, sell Beto and buy a striker who knows how to score goals .
{Ed025's Note - absolutely Brass, but that striker will need service as well mate, we dont create enough for me...and it needs to be of better quality..
19 Aug 2024 09:59:20
Unfortunately Ed we've signed a couple of decent creative players that are better than anything else in our squad, but this clown doesn't deem them ready for the Premier League.
I really do despair. Sooner he's gone the better.
{Ed025's Note - he prefers grafters and the old guard instead of young creative flair SB, if he cant improve us with the better quality that has been bought then he will have to go mate...simple as that..
19 Aug 2024 10:04:13
Agree Ed, but that won't happen with the negative formation Dyche uses. Can understand using it away, but at home we should be a lot more positive.
In McNeil, Harrison and Dacoure we have some of the slowest forwards in the league. Brighton hit us with pace on the wings and we couldn't handle it. Imagine if they had our two out wide, would have been nil nil. And yet we had two quick players sitting on the bench?
{Ed025's Note - i know mate its so frustrating..
19 Aug 2024 10:12:09
We can't keep blaming the strikers as ed says they need the service, I blame negative nelly and his persistent rinse and repeat tactics.
I think our players are good enough, but I don't believe dyche is the right choice to unleash them.
{Ed025's Note - you are spot on for me Wolf, these players are not as bad as they look but it seems that way because of how they are set up and instructed to play with caution, i cant bear to watch us and my swear box must have close to £3m in it by now.. :)
19 Aug 2024 10:13:07
Ndiaye and Lindstrom might create more Ed25 - they just need to be given a chance.
{Ed025's Note - they surely would BR but they cant effect the game from the bench mate, it must be maddening for them as well..

I disagree tbh. I think some of the players are nowhere near good enough. You can see it with some of the decision making during games alone. One that stuck out on Saturday being .
DCL wins a flick on and sends the ball to the right corner flag in the park end. Doucoure is already sprinting full speed ahead of DCL, comes to collect the ball and doesn't even look up. He then puts a shoddy "cross" into the box, straight to the keepers hands. If that was one of the lads for the top teams, they would have won a corner or simply recycled possession and come back for support and/ or retain possession.
Even if, by some miracle, DCL was in the box, it wouldn't have gone to him anyway but surely any player with a modicum of football intelligence and awareness would know that there is no chance that DCL could have been up with the play, making a cross absolutely pointless.
It really is school boy stuff.
Our players are extremely limited and it is clear for everyone to see, including the opposition players and backroom staff. We must be thee easiest team to plan for in training.
- Sit back and force the long diagonal ball from their keeper or cb's.
- Win the ball in the air because they have McNeil or Harrison lol.
- If Dom wins it, let him do his thing as he will not be anywhere near the danger area and that means no danger as none of their other players get into the box.
- Hit them on the flanks because their fullbacks are atrocious.
- Fizz balls along the 6/ 12 yard line as their defenders are absolute air heads and ball watch, rather than spotting where our danger men will be.
Most people slagged Onana off saying that he is overrated and hasn't shown anything for us. I beg to differ. I think he showed plenty of decent performances for us. His debut against Villa, albeit a short one. The Arsenal game. The Spurs game away. The United game at OT, just a few that spring to mind. These were all early in his Everton career for sure but the problem was that the stuffing got knocked out of him very quickly when he realised that no matter how well he did his job, it would have no bearing on the game. I can remember countless times where the lad won the ball back and got to his feet, urgently looking for a pass, only to see mannequins in front of him all over the pitch.
It was unadulterated dejavu on Saturday with young Timothy. The amount of times he won the ball back and had nothing in terms of movement ahead of him. By the 70th minute, the lad was exhausted, not just physically but mentally too. It won't be long until this insipid bunch of pretenders sap the life and enthusiasm out of him too and we have another Onana on our hands.
I am not making excuses for Gana as he should know better than anyone now how average this group is but he actually showed a decent bit of play before he gave it away in the middle of the park for the Welbeck goal. The issue was the same, he showed some intelligence and got some space but then there was absolutely nobody showing for the ball and he ended up playing a silly and risky pass as a result.
We are so bad and have been for so long that it doesn't even anger me anymore. Its like the emotion has been taken out of it and it is just expected and as if you deserve it, a bit like an abusive relationship, you accept it and stick around.
19 Aug 2024 11:45:14
No one ever mentions Doucoure, the fella is just a passenger most games and seems to add very little to any game.
19 Aug 2024 12:36:11
Top post BlueNose ?.
19 Aug 2024 14:30:17
Top post bluenose. I completely agree the overhaul of atrocious players is far from complete and we still have a lot of lemons.
This is why i would be cautious re just sacking dyche and i think we have to swallow the negative tactics and poor football until we simply have a decent squad. Having said all that dyche isn't void if critisism when you look at his team selection. I do agree with the vast majority that the weekends defeat is on dyche but too early to just sack him. Previouly we have been relegation fodder, now we are just frustrating!
19 Aug 2024 15:37:32
Spot on, BN, don't think many could argue with any of your points there mate.
19 Aug 2024 11:07:42
How do you think we will fair against Spurs away? Surely he can't start Holgate at RB.
{Ed025's Note - it certainly would not surprise me Scottish..
19 Aug 2024 17:16:47
Bit of a chicken and egg situation. A new manager could get a tune out of the squad, especially if they chucked the new boys and Dixon in. Can’t know can we?
19 Aug 2024 17:17:08
We are all frustrated lads but at least we are all frustrated together hey.
I just can't accept the "they aren't ready" bollocks he keeps sounding off about. Even some of the lads 50% will have more technical ability and guile than what was out there on Saturday.
There are lads there that have looked very decent in pre-season. If they can't last the 90 minutes, then take them off but at least start them and put the onus on the opposition when we are at home.
I know the PL is arguably the best and toughest league in the world but Dyche makes out as if it is a completely different sport. It isn't like it was back in the day. He needs to have a word with himself.
{Ed025's Note - the only positive i can take from Saturday is that surely Dyche knows he messed up BN and he now has the chance to change things, if it doesn,t happen then he has to go mate..
19 Aug 2024 18:04:13
If we are setup anything like the same Scottish I think it could be even worse. Spurs flanks are more dangerous and pacy than Brightons imo. Son and Johnson will have an absolute field day.
You are right Ed. I remember having a chat with JB at Ibrox last season. We had a dreadful start and Keane had played every game. I asked JB “How on earth can you not be starting ahead of Keane because he is absolutely s****”. The young man laughed and replied “Don’t worry mate, that will all change come Saturday. Low an behold, he never looked back that season.
I hope you are right and we see a completely different approach next weekend. I wouldn’t bank on it though. It is Dyche after all.
19 Aug 2024 19:32:06
Good stuff BN. Thing I don’t get is regardless of whether they’re ready or not we won’t really know until they get the opportunity. But we do know that Keane and Holgate are not good enough, which means they’ll never be ready. So what’s the thinking behind that Dyche? He then starts talking about XG and hopes we didn’t notice his clever little deflection there ?. The guy winds me up.
19 Aug 2024 20:21:10
100% Toffee ace. It is something I find impossible to wrap my head around too mate.
They have proven that they aren't good enough time and time again. At least give the untested lads chance to prove they are s**** too hey"
