Is there a reason to continue to follow this season and any subsequent Championship season?

Most of you have been loyal Blues for far longer than myself, and kudos are in order to your faith and perseverance.

As Evertonians we are suckers for punishment mate.

I’m 67 and been going to watch Everton since I was 7 when my dad took me, not knowing my have I lost the winter fuel allowance but I’ve lost faith in SD and some of our players but once a blue always a blue.

It’s part of your life. It might not be a nice part of your life, but it’s there. Couldn’t imagine life without it.

It’s impossible to stop, I’ve tried over the years but it’s in the blood.

This comes up quite often. Why should I stop watching my club because it’s being run by incompetents? The fans are the constant, the owners and managers come and go. Hope these ones go soon.

Morning all.

Just wanted to say a few things:

Yes, what is currently being served up is dross and I do think its down to us playing dinosaur tactics against (as was shown yesterday) some of the most astute managers in the world. And one man’s bewildering loyalty to players that are either, or both not good enough, or too old.

But I’m going to go a bit of blue sky thinking on this now.

1) We finally have the stadium that we’ve wanted and needed for decades.
2) The squad is better than it has been for a good few years and a lot of cr*p has been shown the door.
3) The club has us. Uber loyal, loving and devoted fans, who stick with this club through thick (and recently) thin! ?

Be honest, none of us want to be like a City fan is right now. How can you enjoy just winning all the fecking time. Did winning the league last year mean so much more than the year before? i doubt it.

Life needs the bad to make you appreciatewhat the good is.

As Friedrich Nietzsche said (yes you’re getting this on our banter page) : “Without cruelty there is no festival. ”

So imagine this: SD gone in a few weeks, someone with half a modern mentality gets this lot organised, a new owner starts pumping proper money in and then we go to our new stadium with a renewed sense of pride, looking into the future and also up the table!

UTFT’s

These current pains will pass. I feel sure SD will be gone soon enough and all of the rest will start to fall into place. Keep the faith.

Have a great Sunday all.

{Ed025's Note - great post Benny..

Of course we will keep the faith, what's the alternive supporting that other team, it won't happen. Hopefully the mess will get sorted out but its going to take time, even though the Ed's sometimes get unneeded abuse they do try to give us proper information wether we like it or not. Season restarts on tuesday let get behind the team, its in our blood.

Agree with that
Be a hell of a lot cheaper to bin him now than get relegated.

Well I've been watching them for longer than most, actually 78 years so I've been through a lot of ups and downs. I just can't remember any manager being so mentally incompetent or stubborn as this guy. He just will not give up on the likes of Young or Keane even though the evidence is so strong that even us idiot supporters can see it. Unfortunately we are stuck with him until we get a new owner, I just hope that by that time it will not be too late.

{Ed025's Note - we all do Mike..

SD should definitely be replaced ASAP. He is tactically one dimensional and is blinkered towards certain players.
He was handed some quality upgrades in the summer but still insists on picking players that the rest of us can see are not good enough.

We are still a great destination for managers. We have a decent enough squad to easily be mid table. We have new owners around the corner (fingers crossed) and we have an amazing new stadium almost complete.

I would put Leighton Baines in charge until the summer whilst the powers that be whittle down a list until a long term coach can be named.

if you stop following it purely off this, then i'm not sure how you made it past all the rest in the recent years alone, if you think this is the worst of it to come then maybe EFC isn't for you pal haha.

Mmmm. is it the players . is . Keane . Young etc. are not good enough for Everton or not good enough for us supporters. I've got 65 yrs following this club and I think like many many other supporters of whom none have coaching badges . I can see rubbish quite easily.
