I have read people saying we have had one decent manager since Moyes.
I really hope you are not talking about Ancelotti.
What did he do besides keep us in mid table and sign players on champions league wages who barely put a shift in aswell as being on a huge salary himself.
Yes we was in trouble when he came in but 90% of managers would have got us back into mid table with the squad available.
He is as guilty as anyone for the mess we are in and his agent sprung his name around as soon as he knew the sh*t had hit the fan.
He said as much himself in an interview that he wanted to leave as soon as the money had dried up, the fact Real Madrid came in for him is irrelevant, he would have jumped ship to anybody.
Yes he is a legend of a manager but he was a disaster for us and helped significantly the sh*t show that is our finances. rant over.

Depends which way you look at it really mate. The one constant in the failure of the FM era is FM himself. The man sold us fans a dream when he rocked up but that turned out to be a nightmare. I'm guessing he sold that same dream to every manager he employed, signing them on false pretences. Once trust is broken then some will walk, some will stay, it will boil down to whether they can work for that person again.
Personally, I think CA was good for us. James was the stupid wage yet he was quality when fit. Especially if we judge a manager by league position, we haven't really got anywhere near that since after a few more managers.
Our troubles have little to do with CA for me. The only shame about his tenure was closed stadiums so we couldn't get to watch his teams every week.

Stupid appointment, he was never going to stay, waste of money, time and just set us back.

Not quite FBS. We were top after 6 games mid October time.
I have no doubt if Carlo would have stayed we would be a established top 8 club again now. Though in hindsight he never was going to stay long term.
