Solid win. We needed that.

If only we made more chances for DCL. Poor lad.

Yeah good win today DCL hasn’t had much service so far this season.

I've said this before but I would replace DCL with Keane. The only good thing about Keane is he can shoot, his defending is terrible. DCL on the other hand can't even beat the goalie one on one.

To be fair I think Keane did brilliantly at both ends of the pitch today but I do take your point. DCL is great at hold up but his finishing his pants, he should’ve had a hat trick today.
Anyway a great away win - fantastic away support again, well done blue boys!

For the way he links up play and holds the ball up, despite him being wasteful in front of goal, he is still by far better than Beto. And therein lies the problem, dcl will play most weeks if fit as those who deputise are even worse. He's not a natural finisher but he will score a few in the end. Beto, on the other hand, is even more ineffective.

Really hope Broja will be the answer.

19 Oct 2024 20:46:50
So do I GB. Even if he can finish one of those 1v1s it would have settled my nerves.

Good win today and we needed it. Shame he didn’t give some game time to O’Brien or Dixon. If we want a stronger squad, we have to blood the youth.

Keane had a good gane, DCL not so good, excuse of no service doesn't wash. A bad sub by Dyche again today unless for injury or tiredness. Take a defence occupier off invited pressure on our own.

Broja? Unless his long injury lay off has spawned a player, I'd water down any expectations. He's going to be played in the same role as lone striker. He isn't that. Even in a 442 at saints he was utterly useless. Looked a little promising in a 433 Chelsea team with superior ball players yet didn't exactly hit the grade. Like I say, . unless he's had some Wolverine style injury genetic rebuild, he'll be unremarkable at best.

Will fit in perfectly then FBS.

Let's just look at those 1 on 1 chances. First one he won the ball himself and created his own chance. Second he made a really good run across the defence to get the chance.
At no time did the lad go missing in the game despite missing those chances. He just kept on working and gave the team an outlet when needed.
Very easy to criticise a player when he is not trying, but you can't put that on this lad.

20 Oct 2024 20:12:22
You’re right Brass, he works hard but struggles to finish. He should have buried at least one from Saturday. Maybe we need someone to come in and work 1:1 with him on finding the back of the net. Otherwise, he needs to play in Doucs role and give someone else a run ahead of him.
