Can someone put me out of my misery (no not like that) .

What is going on with Dele Ali?

Is he even still our player?

I’m so confused, “he’s out of contract, but training” blah blah blah. Seriously what is going on with him?

Agree0 Disagree0

Has no contract with us and is working on getting back to fitness. Who knows when he will be fit enough and what will happen next if he ever gets there.

Reading today that Dele is stating to improve and a new contract is in the offing, personally I would like to see the back of him,

If and it’s a massive one, he got back to 80% of his best, that’s still one hell of a player.

Well you can't knock his dedication, he is out of contract yet still comes in to work out at Everton without pay. He is only 28 so has a few years left so he could be useful If he can get back to full fitness, his ability should be still there.

basically Everton are doing a kindness, for all that Dele has been through Dyche n co feel a duty of care to try get him back on his feet after recent years

the incentive of a potential contract is on the table, but not guaranteed until Dele can prove his fitness/ quality levels

if there was to be a new deal, it would most likely just be until end of the season.

Thanks for the replies all.

I’d honestly love to see him in our shirt, but only if he is anything like he used to be.

I really want us to turn a page on being a charity / retirement fund for people not up for it.

Fingers crossed he comes good.

£100,000 a week for years, nota very good bargain.

Allowing him to train with the club and use the facilities costs us nothing. We’ve overpaid for a player that hasn’t delivered up to now, can’t change that.
If he feels that he has something to offer the club, and the manager agrees, and he accepts a reasonable short term contract, we don’t have anything to lose by exploring it. Our squad and bench lacks depth, he might offer something we don’t have.

When he was on Sky Sports covering our game and they had that sit down after, he seemed set on getting back. How much of that was hot air, we’ll never know until he plays. I’d hate us to miss it if it did happen.

£100k a week for someone who never plays… we certainly have mugs written on our forehead!
