clearly a lot on this site are not happy with Sean Dyche, me personally, i think he should be a figure fondly remembered when his deal expires next summer
came in very difficult circumstances, had to manage things out of his control and faced the craziest of circumstances
has the football been great? no.
did he save EFC from what looked like a certain relegation, then the season after have us not even in the conversation with a -10 deduction? yes (know it was -8 in the end, but at the time but we didn't know that whilst we were slogging for points)
i think you can admit Dyche has done the job asked of him whilst also saying it's the right choice to go separate ways next summer, with a handshake and a firm 'thank you'
no it's not this miracle job, but it doesn't have to be, it's rare from EFC managers in recent times that they actually do the job asked of them. was the bar the lowest it has been? yes but the challenges faced were also x10 the amount any other manager in recent years has had to deal with
just a bit of respect is needed, can Dyche improve? yes.
is there need for this much disrespect and speaking about him as if he's the worst gaffer ever and not helped EFC in their darkest times? not a chance.

Can't argue with any of that WBlue ?
He did very well under the circumstances, doubt a lot would have.
Forever grateful, but as a club wanting to get to the next level he isn't the right man to take us forward and clearly not going to change his ideas and I totally don't like the disrespectful name calling by fans of him and really wish he could put 2 fingers up to them all and succeed whilst changing his ways, but not going to happen so as you say it's a thank you from me for guiding our club in what as and is a troubled period.

He kept us up and a big thankyou, we now need to move on a new manager is vital.

Can Dyche improve? Never in a million years. As ed025 says. Thanks and make sure the door does not bang your arse on the way out.
{Ed025's Note - as Del Boy once said...a leopard never changes its stripes Nick.. :)

He will end up with the same respect as Allardyce. 5million a year he earns so he's not kept us up out of the goodness of his heart.
What's ruining his reputation is his arrogance, his attitude to the fans, his constant excuses for not being able to move the team forward.
His constant remarks about the state of the club even now after 2 years in the job.
He reminds me of that guy at work who has the same poor excuses for just doing enough to keep a job but nothing more. The world's full of them.

I'm not having any of that.

Well said Smit, the problem with SD is that he is one dimensional, refuses to change regardless of the situation and if left in charge would keep us flirting with relegation every year. New owners, new stadium, hopefully new ideas and a new dawn.

It’s all about opinions. Personally mine is that he’s a terrible coach. We play the worst brand of football in the league and he is happy with this. Well I’m not. Even when we win, which is rare, are we ever entertained in the same ways our competing fans are? Definitely not.
The very reasons the OP gives to be grateful are the running commentary of SD plethora of excuses when we lose. I’m sick of this low bar we have as a club. We go around with our proud history and our great work in the community. But we role over on the pitch and play as if we’re apologising for being in this league.
SD gets no thanks from me at all. I can’t wait to see the back of him. When they do actually get rid I just hope our new owners designate set the bar for his replacement higher than their predecessor. Just my opinion of course.
{Ed025's Note - i agree with a lot of that Ace, the caveat (or maybe excuse) is that he inherited a very weak squad and no money to spend at a club who were in a very bad place mate, but for me Dyche is very limited and has a penchant to not lose games rather than win them and the standard of football and entertainment is nothing short of deplorable, the bar has been set very low mainly because the club has an owner who has given up on the club and his mismanagement has turned us into perennial survival candidates with a lack of ambition, hopefully TFG will come in and things will change and with the new stadium and new hope will turn us into a club befitting our history and incredible fan base, the first thing they should do is get rid of the manager who is not up to the job even though he has done well to a certain extent to keep us in this league, its time for change and a new broom to sweep away the cobwebs and move this club forward..

yeah above isn't me saying you know, 'wow hang a picture up of him at BMD! '
it's a basic acceptance, and it's not buying in to his constant reminders (annoying i agree) but what he says most of the time is true, the factors at play at EFC in recent years have been crazy
i just think a bit of respect, the way you see him spoke about on twitter and here is like he's an anchor on EFC, when in reality he's done a good job and many recognise that.
as i say, to move forwards it's right to change in the summer, it's a results business at the end of the day.

Spot on wblue2.

Definitive Ed good stuff mate.
I feel similar, I cannot slag the fella off too much, however he has convinced me that he is only a troubleshooter type of manager, which is a speciality in itself but a PL club with ambition needs much, much more.
{Ed025's Note - absolutely GD..

Look the guys level is bottom half Premiership. He's managed to keep us up but now we need a manager who knows how to win things, and can play football worth watching.

I'm talking to the 9 who likes that.
