Thought I'd wait until this morning, bit calmer and more rational.
Fans were great as usual.
Southampton were pretty awful and there for the taking. We were only slightly better, although you wouldn't know it from watching MOTD.
I'll not be convinced that it wasn't a red card. He was through on goal and could have got a shot away before the defender got across. The whole stadium were stunned that it wasn't given.
I thought Beto was unlucky not to score when he hit the bar, the ball came at him at speed.
He wasn't clearly offside when he did score and so it should have stood.
Dom and Myk were really poor. Mangala looked decent.
Bizzare subs again, and the fans have had enough. Time to go.
{Ed025's Note - we can dress it up any way we want JB and bemoan our luck and complain about refereeing decisions all we want, but bottom line is that we are just not good enough mate, poor set up and tactics and leaving out your best player says it all for me, things have to change or we will be dragged into the mire again and law of averages means we may not be as lucky this time, are their 3 teams worse than us?..im not sure, i think we have a better set of players than a few of the teams below us but under this manager that will not count for much, he has to go but im not sure who and when they will pull the trigger...soon hopefully..

Don’t disagree, Ed. As I said, time to go.
We had one or two spells where the shackles came off and the fans reacted, far too short lived and reverted to hoof ball which is embarrassing.
Any chance he’ll go before the take over?
I’d rather let Bainesy have a go as interim than carry on with this.

We let teams dominate us every game. Nobody can convince me that the players like playing this way. The man is way out of his depth and should go asap.

My question is JB why is there a need for shackles in the first place playing Southampton? We are in a pitiful state of low confidence because our tactics keep telling the players they are second best and therefore have to let the opposition play while we make it difficult.
We have no idea what so ever of what to do when we have possession. There is absolutely no desire to create passing combinations. These players definitely know how to do it but as has been said are shackled.
I’m dumbfounded that Everton FC have such a low opinion of themselves to think that this is ok? This is the very worse it has been since we won the league in 87, and there’s been some pretty low points.

Trying to think when any of our players actually had a good game, when did DCL, Doucoure, Harrison etc play well, if we don’t get rid of Sean and quick we will be back to square one again with all that goes with it.

DCL is probably sick of playing on his own chasing pointless punts up the pitch. Dacoure is pst his best, and doesn’t have the legs to play in midfield. Harrison is crap.

Can’t even remember DCLs last goal he scored but it’s not only him from the manager down they are all underperforming, we don’t win games like the one yesterday then I really fear for us.

There’s no need for shackles, we’ve seen even the top teams getting beaten by teams that are willing to have a go. This just won’t happen under Dyche.
I agree, no patterns of play, any points we win are down to individuals doing something out of the ordinary. What are they being coached to do? It’s not obvious to anyone. Sooner the takeover is completed the better, can’t see any new owner wanting SD to stay on.

TFG will by necessity draw conclusions about SD (probably job done ) and it's hard to imagine that they are impressed.
I cannot see him being here a second longer than they want or perhaps need him to be here.

All valid points guys I agree with ed025 bemoan our luck but fact is we caught Southampton so many times and never punished them!
Surely Beto is worth a start DCL has been blunt and you have little faith he will score!
JB touted as a £70m player yet he sits on the bench, I would rather he replaced Tarks or Keane maybe rotate them but it’s not going to help us keep him in the window!
{Ed025's Note - Southampton are a poor side wakka and if we cant get a result against them then what does that say about us mate?, the mindset is that we are going to stay up but im not so sure, i think we have the quality to be safe but that means very little in the grand scheme of things, playing the way we are we will lose the fan base as well because nobody wants to see this drab Dycheball..

Totally agree Ed. He will be with us until the new owners come in. Just have to hope we pick up enough points until then.

Agree with all of that bar the beto comments, jb. If dcl had missed that then this site, and many others, would have been up in arms. That was a sitter, no two ways about it. It was an expensive mistake too as they went down the other end and scored. He got a bit lucky with his touch to set himself up for the disallowed goal but, to be fair, he is a bit unorthodox at the best of times. He did take the shot very well and was a bit unlucky to be ruled offside. I still don't think this lad is the anwer, the sooner Broja is fit then the better to give dcl that much needed competition.

It looks a sitter I know, and I know I’m in the minority too, but any ball fizzed at you like that is difficult to control, I think he did well to keep it down as much as he did. Also thought he took the goal clinically before it was disallowed. Not sure Dom would have tucked it away in that fashion. I’d be happy if we let Dom go to the highest bidder in January. Hopefully Broja and Chermiti will be fit by then. And of course, we can all always play Keano up top (sigh)

To be honest, jb, the one he missed the other day was easier to score than the one he netted against Fulham. Young pinged the ball across with a volley and he got on the end. This one he was on his own with an open goal! I'm sorry but that should have been in the net and the outcome could have been different. Beto is too erratic for me and I just don't think he's good enough for this level. If SD continues in his job then beto might be better in the championship but he's definitely not premier league level from what I've seen of him, he just looks like an awkward footballer. I don't want to be too harsh on the lad as he works hard and obviously wants to make a go of it, maybe he would be better if he was playing alongside someone up front but do we think SD will go with that formation? Highly doubtful really, he only has one way of playing.
If SD somehow manages to keep his job then December might be when the trigger is pulled, those fixtures are brutal considering the form we are in. One thing is certain mate, something has to give, and soon, as we look like a team that has accepted its fate. We need fresh ideas, a style of play suited to the team selection and not sit behind the ball inviting even the worst teams in the league to have a go at us. This just reminds me of the Fat Sam days, just this time we probably have an inferior squad to back then. It's worrying times right now and we need the board, either the clueless idiots in charge now or someone from the TFG party to grow a set and sort this mess out once and for all. Before it's too late.
