People slamming DCL constantly yet in Harrison and Dacoure we have two midfielders with no goals and no assists. Not sure any striker would thrive given those stats.
Apparently Dyche has said that Harrison is a great trainer with two great feet. Perhaps he could use those feet to walk back to Leeds.

Agree3 Disagree0

The 3 of them can go mate.

28 Dec 2024 13:19:03
Agree with GB. All 3 are old news. Get them all gone and £310k off the wage bill every week.

The difference between DCL and the other 2 is that he constantly gets excuses drawn up for him for how s*** he is, whereas the other 2 just get pelted, especially Harrison.

If it isn't already clear that the DCL cannot finish to save his dinner, I do not know what more proof anyone would need. When you now add the fact that he can't even be bothered and runs round half-arsed, doing just enough to appear as if he is "working", it makes it all the more clear that we need to get shut.

Apparently we don't make chances for him but then why do I keep seeing him miss clear and obvious goalscoring opportunities as the weeks go by. That isn't to mention that any striker worth his salt can fashion chances out of nothing.

Can't wait to see him gone and the talk about him ends.

28 Dec 2024 13:42:42
With those three leading the charge, no wonder we haven’t been prolific this season or last.

28 Dec 2024 14:28:49
You do realise that we won't be saving 310k don't you, as players will have to come in to replace these three.

28 Dec 2024 14:52:06
New era, new broom, new players sweep clean coming up, can’t wait.

28 Dec 2024 14:55:48
Blue nose you really do need to let it go, I made that comment months ago and this is the second time you've brought it up, problem with you is you think your a manager with all the answers, sorry your another clueless fan just shouting your mouth off to anyone who will listen same as us all, moan moan moan, the best thing you can do is go down to goodison, knock on the door and ask if you can tell the club what's best for them but when they laugh just keep writing to them. saying the same thing as that I'm sure will make them realise your correct, dyche for priminister, oh sorry that was a joke but please don't keep bringing it up every post so you feel relevant.

28 Dec 2024 15:58:09
DCL has never been prolific in front of goal but let's not make stuff up just to fit your narrative. He does a lot of the dog work, he's constantly having to hold the ball up, half the time out wide, waiting for others to join play. From the forwards we've had available all season, he's had to play from the start as the only other option has been beto. He simply can't make the ball stick, loses it and then we are defending once again. Broja should provide the competition for dcl now and maybe you will then get your wish. But, from the way we set up our formation and patterns of play, don't expect any forward to be banging them in every game.

28 Dec 2024 16:18:26
think dcl is defiantly not going to sign a new contract my own opinion think he has either agreed a verbal agreement to join a new club or just refusing to sign one think that's why he's not trying more than he should on doucoura think his legs are gone think he is better of infront of the back 4 instead of behind the striker plus he's on 130 k a week so if we can manage to shift him then put us in better situation with the wage bill and jack harrison don't care what dyche has said he's nowhere near worth 30 mill this lad can only run can't take a man on can't cross a ball and can't shoot so send him back to leeds i like his commitment he does chase the ball but that doesn't justify the fee of a 30 mil loan agreement in place for permanant transfer to everton keanes in that bracket aswell 80k a week so think we need start shifting these on and buying sensibly younger talent from lower leagues or even abroad.

28 Dec 2024 17:26:59
Every professional footballer with half a brain and good people helping navigate a short career must manoeuvre the free transfer at some point in their prime. This is that time. DCL is due respect but it's over.

28 Dec 2024 17:32:08
It wouldn't be far off Brass. Chermitti for DCL and Garner/ Irog for Doucoure. Would only need to find a winger to replace Harrison and I bet we could find one better for almost half of what he is on.

Bluepasty - wow the hypocrisy and arrogance stinks hahah.

You are speaking about ME wanting to be relevant (which I couldn't care less about) , yet you think my comments on DCL about being crap are based on something YOU said months ago. Pure unadulterated delusions of grandeur. Trust me, you do not occupy that much space in my head and news flash - you are not the only person who said we don't create enough chances for DCL. There is a whole other world outside of this site. Twitter, Toffee TV etc have plenty saying the same thing.

Please tell me how I think I am a manager with all the answers when all I am doing is stating the obvious fact that DCL is a crap finisher and the statistics only support this statement.

Who is moaning. It is called an opinion?

Sorry to break it to you but I don't remember your Dyche for priminister (or Prime Minister) comment. I hope this doesn't shatter your egotistical cry for relevance.

Bluepotato, I don't make things up to fit a narrative, if you think that deep into the opinions of others, you crack on mate. I simply say what is apparent in performances. Perhaps you should go an watch the City game back and look at the trotting around, the half-arsed jumps into the air to win the ball. Speaking about narratives, a great one is that DCL is this fantastic and hard working hold-up player that never stops running - it is laughable.

Broja came on in the same game of football and showed more in 20 minutes than DCL managed in the whole game. A number of times the ball came into him with a man on his arse and he either won a freekick or showed a classy first touch and peeled away to get us on the counter. Why is it that he is able to do it with the same players around him? Oh, I don't know, maybe because he has a modicum of footballing ability.

I am not epecting anybody to bang them in every game. That doesn't happen at the best clubs, unless your name ends in Salah. It is obvious that this manager and the way we play make it a difficult task for anyone but I know for a fact that if we had any of Welbeck, Wood, Cunha, Wissa, even a half-dead Jamie Vardy on the end of the chances DCL has had this season, they would be on at least triple the goals he is.

What I posted isn't even out there, it is an opinion that a lot of supporters agree with. Absolutely hilarious that it has garnered some of those responses tbh hahah!

28 Dec 2024 17:41:19
We can moan about our attacking players until the cows come home. They will not thrive under SD, it really is that simple. Give them Martinez as coach and they’ll look different players. Their movement will be better and their finishing probably too. But with the same coach our defence will be utterly clueless and Branthwaite will look like Keane.

We had a coach that can balance the two but he went to Madrid. We need to find another like him then we can start to move forward.

I would fix the Dyche situation as a priority as I just don’t know how good or bad some of our players actually are.

28 Dec 2024 18:27:33
With you there BlueNose mate been said soooooooooo many times it’s a game about opinions eh.

28 Dec 2024 18:51:28
Really is GB mate but if you have an opinion that differs to somebody else's these days, then more often than not they tend to take offence, rather than argue their points to the contrary.

Calvert-Lewin’s finishing is routinely below my expectations of an Everton no.9. I am not huge on the modern stats like XG but there is a time and a place. Since 2018-19, DCL has scored 46 goals from an xG of 61, an underperformance of 15. I doubt there is another striker in the league with a bigger drop off.

Whilst it is true that we don't create a constant flow of chances, I would say that some of them are very big chances. Maybe it is fair to say that he is extremely wasteful when he gets opportunities, albeit not many.

28 Dec 2024 20:07:18
Put bluntly mate he could hit a barn door.

28 Dec 2024 20:12:53
The question I have BlueNose is who’s responsible for his slump? And I can’t look beyond the coaching staff. When he had Dunc and Carlo he was excellent and scored goals. His headed goals were some of the best in the league.

I agree with you that he’s not performing but I’m not laying all the blame at his door.

Fact is he’s either going in a few days or a few months. All our thoughts now need to be in a replacement for him but more importantly a coaching refresh. We will soon see the short term benefits of a new owner.

28 Dec 2024 20:33:22
I think most of our current Team are simply not good enough mate, Harrison, DCL, Doucoure, Gueye, Beto, Keane, and a couple more, we need to get rid.

28 Dec 2024 20:35:29
I think you are right Toffee Ace. Staff, teammates, set-up etc will all have a part to play but equally, I think his head grew far too big after the call-ups and he thinks we are beneath his level, totally forgetting that he is a large part of why we have finished where we have in recent seasons.

For me this current form isn't a slump. I just think the 18 months under Carlo were exceptional and he was over performing, add to the fact that everything was armed for him to be a success because Carlo knew we were very limited and it was our best route for goals.

The lad clearly rates himself very highly. I don't mind it if you are performing and others are letting you down e. g. Cunha at Wolves but he is as much to blame as the rest for our recent league finishes.

29 Dec 2024 11:19:54
BN, we all know his finishing has been poor and nobody can really argue with that, and it's obvious that you dislike him as a player. But you seem to be of the opinion that he doesn't offer anything to the team and I believe that is wrong and plays into your opinion that he's poor all round. The ball is constantly lumped to him to hold up with little options alongside him. From what we have had available this season forward wise, he is the best man for that job. Broja might be a better option now he's fit but beto isn't effective at this.
The style of football is the main problem as we don't set out to score many goals in a game.

29 Dec 2024 11:44:02
Broja must look like a loose cannon to SD, he has that 'bit between the teeth' demeanour lol and like DCL he will IMO be a true asset under a manager that likes at least a modicum of offensive play, right now I think if I was SD, I would welcome any player criticism as a distraction away from his one dimensional and prosaic tactics.

29 Dec 2024 12:50:49
Too much ignorant bull by bluenose. We're going to get rid of 3 and save 330k a week by replacing them by better players that will cost nothing

Our biggest problem is selling players and replacing them with weaker players

Is that hard to understand that.

29 Dec 2024 16:18:29
Evidently you are to ignorant to read properly BR.

I didn’t say anything about replacing them with better players for nothing. I said that we already have Chermiti for Dom and Garner or Irogbunem for Doucoure in the 8/ 10. Granted they are injured but hopefully both are back soon.

This wasn’t a long term vision, it was speaking specifically about this window and getting us to summer to take a more calculated look at recruitment and hopefully with a new manager in.

310k worth of wages is a very handsome amount to bring new players in with. Young and up and coming talent that won’t demand anywhere near that amount and hopefully will actually improve the team from a performance aspect, given the right recruitment.

Is it that hard to understand.
