All this "I don't want to be in a relegation scrap" noise coming from Moyes is disturbing me. Sounds like what he's really saying is "come and get me". Much as I dislike Dyche, I would rather keep him to the end of the season than bring in Moyes. Lord I hate being an Evertonian at times, why do you punish me? What have I done so wrong in life to deserve this?

Where are West Ham now compared to when they sacked him? Moyes has only failed once and that was abroad. I would take Moyes over Dyche every time.
{Ed001's Note - Sunderland? And West Ham fans would say a lot of the problem is the ageing, slow players he left behind.}

Moyes is a big NO mate.

I don’t want him but he did get us and West Ham a few times into Europe.

After I was all for SD back in the day etc. I feel a tad on the back foot over new managers, are there other options? I mean crikey DM is just a bit more of the same surely.

Failed at the biggest club in the world. Failed at Sunderland and then walked away when relegated. Failed in Spain. Too old at 60+ years of age now for new ideas. In 11 years took us in Europe 4 times and messed up early rounds. No thanks.

Agree Nick, he like Big Sam were the kings of survivalist footy, then the unthinkable happened, yep they got relegated or maybe found out and low and behold feet of clay.

He's an option until the end of the season when the inevitable sacking of dyche occurs. He's not a long term appointment by any stretch of the imagination but he'd be a pair of safe hands to see us through.

Lad thought James Beattie was going to win us the league.

Old and ageing players. He sounds like an ideal fit for Everton.

Can I just ask why a lot of people on here, label a manager over 60 years old as being too old, we need someone with fresh ideas etc?
An aging manager can still deliver creative ideas, be proactive and have great tactical nous.
I don’t know why a managers age has anything to do with it, we should be looking for the right person hwho has the right CV, experience and proven track record. Not writing people off because they’re approaching 60 ?.

Agree with that Ed001, just pointing out the anti Moyes rants are off the bandwagon. I certainly wouldn't want him long term. Look at Alardyce they brought him in on 18 month contract, then binned him months before its end and he had us 8th. We don't want a Mourinio or such that can only operate on a big budget. Moyes on 18 months would steady us.
{Ed001's Note - not sure you need steadying now though, I think you are already fairly steady, just not steady in the place you need to be in terms of league position! You need a coach who can improve players and take the club forward now. Not sure Moyes does that.}

Sam had us 8th but any other manager would have done the same given how early he came in, no team has ever been relegated in November! SA was just as bad as SD for entertainment value, although the latter has had his hands tied to be fair. I'd take DM but from now until the end of this season, if only to see the back of the current idiot in charge.
