While I'm extremely disappointed with Moyes looking like the new manager, I can see there logic. He's like a comfort blanket, warm and safe. I could have put up with him until the end of season but that's all. I wouldn't offer him a 2 year contract for Netflix not to mention Everton.
The only difference between him and Dyche is, Dyche goes out not to concede goals, moyes goes out not to lose games. Neither of those are progressive enough or good enough to set up to win a game just set up what I previously mentioned.
I'm not sure if people are looking through rose coloured glasses or not but bar the final year he was here, his football was extremely negative.
His record against the top 4 is atrocious and he didn't learn much since as his record against top 4 with West Ham was equally bad. This is not a reflection or how he left or what he said, just him as a manager.
It was a great opportunity for the TFG to set the bar high and show what they mean business. Just goes to show how far we have fallen that we're happy with mediocrity in the hope of stability.

???????? post of the day.

I don't know who you imagine we can get as manager. A fella who has been out of work for some time chose West Ham over us. A no mark winger from Aston Villa chose IPSWICH over us so I don't know where you think the bar is but it pretty damn low. A dose or realism is needed on here.

But we don't know why potter chose west ham it could have been many reasons and we don't know for sure if he was even asked.

It's a bloody business, 3 weeks in TFG are stabilising us financially and have done what you were all after and yet here are some alienating the hand that feeds them. Can Moyes keep us up, I don't know but I do know he will install pride and passion. I hope he also somehow gets the dogs of war out. Big Reg spot on mate.

10 Jan 2025 21:42:22
Moyes not my favourite but boy do I wish him well.

I hate this dogs of war tag that our club has, pride and passion yes, each to their own ay mate . I just hope we can slowly raise the bar because it's very low at the moment.

10 Jan 2025 22:00:52
Sorry but I don't see any dogs of War in that Everton squad.

Me to Skylark, we seemed to lose our identity when we moved down that route.

There were other candidates overlooked by TFG who have proven themselves in their respective leagues.

Gregori Upoppittainmi from Italian league 2

Marco Icommaintuutu from Italian league 1

Along with the double paring of Scottish Highlands league 3 Ben Doon and Phil McCavity.

Proven attack minded coaches with the emphasis of hitting the target.

I fully agree Skylark. The dogs of war tags have been dragged out far too often and though it had it's place, it's not anything to aspire. It's plan B and makes a mockery of this clubs true ethos. Someone needs to tap into that more. Can start with a world class academy setup.

It’s a game of opinions and I respect everyone’s opinion, even if it differs to mine. It seems like sacking Dyche wasn’t in the immediate plan of TFG, but once they did they wanted a swift appointment.
Moyes I’m sure is classed as a safe pair of hands.
I would have like them to see if various other coaches are available, even if they still went back to Moyes.
As for Potter going to West Ham, I believe they have better footballers to suit his style of play. As for philogene going to West Ham, you have the choice of a progressive coach in McKenna who will let you attack and express yourself, or Dyche who wants you tracking back more than you attack,
While Moyes is not my choice, if he is chosen, I will back him 100%, same as any other manager. I just see it as a lost opportunity.
