Ok mull on this one.
The last few managers we have brought have had the job of keeping us in the Prem, and each have achieved that only to fail the next season.
Moyes has now kept us in the Prem, so how confident are you that he is the right manager to take us into next season, and our new stadium.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he is the man to take us forward to any kind of success, but the biggest question is who is, great managers are not two a penny, so I guess we are stuck with him for a couple of years.
I know some on here love the bones of him but not me, I feel like we are just stuck in the past again.

{Ed025's Note - im prepared to give the guy a chance Skylark, i was never a fan but we need stability and to build something solid for the future, he may not be the one ultimately but for now could do a job imo, i dont like the fact that he plays too many grafters instead of ballers and seems to have favourites but while he is getting results mate i can put up with that..

I would go all out to keep Davey after BMD next season and way out after his contract expires, he is for me the messiah we have been waiting for for so long, he is Mr Everton, ps Skylark might disagree lol.

{Ed025's Note - i think he can do a job short term GB, beyond that i would like to see how things progress mate before i start hailing him as the chosen one..

05 Apr 2025 20:05:25
In as confident as PSR will allow us to not sack him….

TFG will support him in the transfer market Ed mate, imagine the Team we will have next season eh.

{Ed025's Note - it could be great GB but only if he plays them and not revert to type mate, he plays the likes of Tim, Doucs, Harrison and Gana in the same team today and leaves the players like Charly and Garner on the bench, grinding out results is his forte but i would like to see a bit more flair myself, im not throwing him to the wolves just yet of course but i want to be entertained as well as having a bit of bite..

They are the Managers/ coaches we are not. Did Doucs and Harrison put in a shift today? Harrison 'won' the penalty and Doucoure' gets in their faces. People used to have a go at Richarlison (diving) but totally missed the workrate he put in. Today we did not have a RW other than Harrison and he is a natural LW but Ndiaye was there.

He's absolutely the. man to take us forward. The definition of forward is ahead of where we're at. He'll do that but is he the man for 3 years time? The man to take us to the top 6? Is he the man for where we all demand to be? Probably not. Is he the man to move us forward from a club finishing 17th yes, yes he is. More tosh game after game from the hater.

{Ed025's Note - i think you have got it spot on FBS..

For me, definitely one more season. Some seem to have very quickly forgotten the dreadful, losing football we had to endure before DM came in. Steady ship, at least one more season.

{Ed025's Note - works for me JB..

05 Apr 2025 23:34:26
To improve is to invite ridicule. Job done in 13 games then?

05 Apr 2025 23:37:08
Ironically MOTD have just posted a table of form since DM came in. We are 6th. Who'd have that? Who? Stand up and show your vote. Now mock it and justify it? Bonkers.

06 Apr 2025 18:52:28
Well that got you thinking anyway.

In my eyes DM will still be here in 5 years time and he will transfer us from a regular 15th-16th team to a top 8-9 team within a couple of years. This is how he’ll get a new contract, they’ll be new players, new stadium and much better football as he’ll have his OWN players at his disposal. I’ve been calling him to come back for about a 7 years but clearly Moshri had no idea. Now that he is I am very confident he’ll have us playing some really good stuff next season, his own players rather than the dross he’s been left. Look at the team we had when he left for crying out loud. DM is a decent fit for Everton and he will prove this in the next couple of seasons, I have no doubt.

{Ed025's Note - i must say im very underwhelmed with your aspirations Peter, the absolute minimum im looking for is 7th within the next 2 years mate and from then on in i want top 4, i think Dave can do a good job of stabilizing us but he is a very pragmatic manager and im not sure that he can take us to the dizzy heights of top 4 but i live in hope of course, listen im 66 and not in the greatest of health so im maybe looking for too much too soon but this is Everton not bloody Crystal Palace so i need more.. :)

07 Apr 2025 13:37:44
but top 8-9 could well be 7th couldn’t it Ed and/ or 4th within the next 2-3 years, who knows? (For me I personally think that’s a bit unrealistic mate) .
My point is I feel that we are now in good hands at last, I know that time has passed but he was the last manager that got us to 4th place, with the players he bought! So far he has brought in Alcaraz who everyone seems to like so let’s see who else he brings in in the summer before we try and move him on after the next couple of years. As you have said everyone has there opinion on the matter though.
With all that being said I’m sorry to hear about your health though Ed, that’s not good. Maybe a top 8-9 finish next season and a FA cup win then ?? optimism :)

{Ed025's Note - I would take that Peter..
