Seems Moyes has answered those Doucoure detractors in his recent comments.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dacoure is a nice bloke and clearly loves the clu but he isn't good enough for where we want to be, especially on 130k a week.

He's popped now and again with important goals but in the main he's a headless chicken with the inability to pass to someone 5 yards away from him.

I wish him well but hopefully no longer with us.

£130k is crazy money, but if we could get him on £60k (or less) for a couple more years, I think that would be ok. He’s clearly a leader, works hard, loves the club. As a squad player, I think he would be useful to have around. I would imagine most of you disagree with me; I know he’s frustrating at times and can be awful. Just me own opinion.

I actually agree mostly but not years. He could do a job as a squad player for another year but beyond that would be charity. I just can't see the player "loving the club" enough to take a 60% wage cut when Saudi will be sniffing about and will probably increase his current wage. Not his fault and I'm not being a div but let's see "how much he loves the club" with those choices. Personally I hope the club doesn't allow itself to be embarrassed with such a scenario.

Well I disagree with you swimmers mate. He is not a leader and isn't good enough to play in the position he is in. Yes he works hard, but his passing is awful and he creates nothing. One solitary goal is not going to change my opinion. Time for us to move him on and get a playmaker in that position.

14 Apr 2025 11:55:30
Agree with you Swinners, if he takes a vastly reduced wage then he would be an option from the bench.

There’s better out there than AD. I was surprised the goal went in the way he hit it. I’m very grateful for the important goals he has scored for us but he’s cost us a fair few too with misplaced passes or poor positioning. His engine is good and his press sometimes is good too.

We need someone who looks comfortable on the ball and can see a pass. He’s not to good at any of those which is a big problem for us.

Sadly, there’s little sentiment in football these days.

Doubt he’d take a 50%+ pay cut. Would any of us? I’ll be very surprised if we don’t just pay him the same for another year. I think that would be a mistake but don’t know how Davey will go about it.

£130k a week. Jeeze!

14 Apr 2025 15:23:05
It was a good, calm finish, probably the best part of his game. His passing is woeful and he’s not blessed with pace. We should let him go with thanks and move forward.

14 Apr 2025 19:33:01
As I said seems Moyes disagrees.

14 Apr 2025 19:37:40
I do though agree on the reduced wage. Remember though it is not the player but the agents looking to grab big percentage.

Only trouble with all these players out of contract is that we will have to buy someone else.
Just using doucoure as an example and this will relate to all the players leaving
From the comments above doucoure £130k a week

Let's say he leaves and we get someone in on half that. For a financial side that would be less than £3.5m transfer with a wage of£65k a week to match what doucoure is on.
I don't understand the ffp psr etc or what evertons financial situation is like but it's a tricky one with what to do. unless we've got some talented youth players to cover these positions we could end up spending a fortune and being in the same position again.
