Our midfield is going to be interesting next season. to me Garner is very ordinary, does not change games, should move him on but probably need squad players. Doucoure goes. Harrison must go. Lindstrom not a premier league type player from what we have seen. Alcaraz Moysey does not seem sure about. Ghana deserves a short contract but will probably want 2 years which he is unlikely to get. McNeil is tidy and a half decent crosser of the ball but lacks pace. Armstrong i would like to see given game time with us but may find himself loaned out. so there are lots of questions to be answered in that department. But without doubt there has to be a search on across all leagues for a creative midfielder/ architect and pace on the flanks. Hoping spending restrictions and our kitty allow something to get excited about as we being our Bramley Moore journey.

What I noticed with our midfield is when centre backs have the ball the 2 midfielders drop back to centre half positions. Leaves z gaping hole in the middle and no one to pass to.

If my CB (s) moved forward into my position either our FB moved inside or I dropped back, standard stuff. No hole.

We need a lot of new players. Simple as that. The worry is how fast we can gel so many new faces.

No doubt the board along with Davey have identified a list of who it's possible to get in.
We have to be patient and trust that they know best. We aren't going to get world class atm because they want Champions League. We need accept that this is probably a five year project and careful steps need to be taken to avoid the previous regimes mistakes.
I would be more than happy with maybe two marquee signings alongside another half dozen prospects/ squad players. Letting some big earners leave will free up enough funds to do that.
We all know the positions that need attention and I'm sure Davey and his coaches know too. We are safe this season when it looked dangerous under SD. Let's celebrate that and get excited about a summer of new arrivals and a move to BMD.
The Grand Old Lady will be sadly missed by us all but we need to modernise or fall further behind.

Well let’s see about this Champions League mythe when clubs like Utd who are not in it will still attract top players. Why, because they pay them a lot of money.
Champions League is just an excuse, they go to who pays the most.

If marquee signings means £30-50m on one player then I'd much prefer a dozen of young 20-23 year olds who are going places for £5-£15m and a couple of 29-31 year olds on the cheap/ loan who can make it all mesh. Hopefully the club don't come out and state how big the war chest is and that clubs assume we are still skint and don't try to squeeze us like under the previous regimes splurges. Nothing more hobbling than advertising we have £100m+ burning a hole.
