Reports this morning serguest that Everton might not be able to meet Delaps wages demands, £120, per week.
There might be something wrong with my math's, but Harrison, on £90,perhaps week, Keane on £80, perhaps week, DCL On £1000 per week, and Decoay on £130 per weekh, put together gives you four hundred thousand per week, so, £120/ 150, really should not be an insurmountable problem. we may lose out not being able to offer European football, I get that, but on cash terms, we should be able to compete for his signature.

Playing Devil, s advocate here, but is Delap worth that amount per week, has he really proved himself in the premier league. Also are, nt we trying to cut back on the high wage earners too. Some might say we are just transferring one high wage earner for another. For 400,000 per week as you quoted could we not get 4 or 5 players in as opposed to a couple. Just a thought.

We need to stop paying out stupid money on wages, especially for a player who has only had one full season in the Premier league. Does his first full season warrant such a transfer fee and high wage? I don't think so meself to be honest.

No point rowing about this 1 delap ain't coming to us. we won't pay them sort of wages again for a long time. i would sooner buy Ferguson cheap or try get him on loan with an option to buy. But that's just me.

As frustrating as it appears to be, . I'm all for last minute shopping this summer. We can't afford to get into bid battles for players and I think that some nailed on transfers "Delap" in my view being one, will be a waiting game. Steaming in asap with bids is foolish and unnecessary. I doubt much will happen until end July. First news will be June when we will see who is offered a new contract out of those at the end. I hope it's a really frustrating quiet summer until deal after deal drops just in time for kick off. We can't afford to be a front runner.

All depends on the owners ambition I guess. If you want the best then you have to pay the price.

Doesn't matter about the owners ambition you can only spend a certain amount. and my opinion is try and get the signings in early so they get a pre season together. going to be hell this summer but that's what being a BLUE is all about nothing ever seems to go smoothly.

I get that, BMD, but we also have to be cautious with the fees and wages that we offer. We've been down this road of throwing cash at everything that moves and it resulted in points deductions. PSR isn't set up to help any team other than those that make the most money.

Delap isn't worth whatever the final fee is. He has had one decent season, if only we'd sold DCL after his.
Unlike previous regimes, I have a lot more faith in TFG, Kinnear and Moyes to be better at doing business.
UTFT NSNO IMWT.

He has had one Season WT, I would argue with the decent descriptive, totally agree with you. Mind you will probably put a couple past us now. I would quite honestly convert Keane to striker. TFG, Kinnear, a couple of other TFG money men recruits and to some extent Moyes are in it to bring sustainability and success to our Club which breeds profit. They are as you say no fools.

I think the owners ambition is and always will be the key to how this club progresses. The difference with this lot is that they are putting football minded people in place. So if they decide Delap is worth it then he is.
