Eds (or anyone) , do we know what the club's thoughts on beto are? I think he's decent, but not sure he is a TOP striker. However when we are servicing him better I think he will get back on the small run of goals we saw? Keep seeing links with him to Leeds and multiple foreign clubs and can't decide my thoughts haha.

He was rubbish though when coming off the bench and wants to play regular. I'm not sure about him looks unplayable some wks. And needs to watch the line once he gets moving he is pretty quick and doesn't need to run offside like he does.

6 months I'd have said he was no where near good enough. I've seen a real improvement in him. I think he makes good runs off the bally, always available, he's quicker than he looks and he's knocked 8 in since Christmas. I'd give him another season with another top striker coming in as competition, and Chermiti as third choice.

GB he’s averaging 1 goal every 2 games. We’ve been calling out for a striker to be able to that. Eh

I have seen Dan mention this a good few times on here and i'm going to say the same I like the lad think he gives his all every game he might miss more chances then score but can't fault the lads commitment though he's an awkward forward to mark he's a handful lads got pace and strength but his touching could improve but am just curious if people don't want beto then who can we honestly attract a forward with 15.20 goals season we have got no chance most teams in prem are looking for one also so just find it baffling why some people on here don't like the lad.
{Ed025's Note - i think everyone likes him Andy, its just that a lot of us dont really rate him as a top quality forward mate, there are far better out there for me and i know it can be a bit of a lottery with all players but for us to move forward we need a bit better than Beto, but of course some will feel different and thats fine..

Yep I know Ed mate I keep hearing the so called stats yet when actually watching him he’s offside of the post and just wide time and time again, just my opinion but I think we can do better and now with TFG we definitely can mate.

I'm with Andy and Dan on this one, I think there is a player there. I think he could get us 15 goals next season.
To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if we start the season with the strikers we have, as underwhelming as that would be.
We have higher priorities in my opinion i. e. RB, LB, RW, CM, and despite what some think, we don't have a bottomless pit of Money.

Count me in, gb and ed25, if we are to keep him then it's as an impact sub in the latter stages of games. If we get an offer that is around or above what we paid, then get him gone asap.
I think GngerDan might actually be Beto ?.

One thing I like about Beto is his willingness to recieve the ball, try turn the defender and then burst forward. Always looks to attack, not receive the ball and play it back to our centre halves. He's awkward, gangly and quite quick once he gets going. Needs to not be bundled off ball so easy and use his strength. And needs to keep onside too. His only problem is when he's on as a sub, he can't get into the game. Better player when starting, but we definitely need a main, no1 striker.

Beto is always going to be a topic of conversation 'look at the weekend took his 2 goals really well 'but ofcourse he's off side on both ' they were close, but then he will gets a chance and sticks it by the corner flag '8 goals is ok when you think Danny wellbeck has score 10 and it's his best ever season 'maybe next year he can get double figures or we end up with a duffer who we should of sold when we could for 26 mill to Leeds if that's true ' I personally would sell him 'I just think he's been awful for so long and yeah he came good 'but you cannot guarantee that will happen next season look at DCL another one ' now I was a big big fan of him but again 1 season wonder ' we wasted a chance to sell him and have regretted it, now he could be off for nothing ' if beto stays and let's say we get delap 'beto will be on the bench ' same as this season, what did he achieve 'nothing until he played regular ' so why keep him 'get the 26 mill and buy someone else .

We can do better in a whole host of positions in the squad.
However we can’t replace everyone - some fans are going to be sorely disappointed this summer when we don’t splash the cash and end up with a massive overhaul. - those days are long gone.
Our new owners are hopefully going to make sensible footballing decisions and make sure they spend any money wisely.
Purchasing a proven premier league goalscorer who’ll guarantee you 15+ goals will be extremely expensive particularly as a whole host of other teams in the league will be after one.
Spending a massive chunk of our budget on this position seems foolhardy when we’ve got a striker who’s scoring 1 goal every 2 games and there are far more important positions to improve first.
I’m trying to be realistic with what the summer may hold rather than ending up disappointed that we haven’t recruited everyone name being mentioned and improving every area in the squad in one window.

1 every 2 games makes him sound like one of the top strikers in Europe and even his most ardent of fans wouldn't go that far! That's why I prefer to call him on what I see at the games.

Agree on Emegha BlueNose, he looks the biz. Habit Diarra would be a great signing too for the middle of the pitch. They will only get better and I'm sure with 53k cheering them on they will thrive at the club. Fellows would be a shrewd signing too. Loves to take his man on and can assist and score. One player I'd love for us to try get early is Rayan Cherki. He's going to be some player that kid. We need to get in early for these types of players. Not let them sign for someone else and then we scour the market for unwanted players. Think that French ligue 2 defender we linked with could be a hidden gem too. Can't see him costing the earth and his stats are up there with Jarrads. But he loves a strike at goal too and looks quite rapid. I'm looking forward to this summer. I think the TFG, dinner, and Moyes want quality at the club. Not just players to make the numbers up.

More like Big Strac than Rom, the latter guaranteed you around 20 goals a season. There is absolutely no comparison between Rom and Beto, it's chalk and cheese that really mate.

BP - Lukaka in 10 seasons in the premier league only ever got over 20 goals once.
Admittedly that once was with us in the 16/ 17 season when he scored 25.
That was his last season with us so clearly improved with games and age with us.
