Not so much corrupt as impotent. The clubs punished so far have been honest and didn’t put up a fight. City have come out fighting making the PL look clueless.

I feel the Premier League are dragging heels as annoying the City and Chelsea fans will just accelerate them leaving.
I thought there was also a ban on stupid length contracts but read Chelsea are offering 8 year contracts again.
I’d like to see what the regulator will do (if that gets sorted) . From what I’ve seen so far, I doubt the Premier League could organise a kick about.
{Ed001's Note - there is no ban on lengthy contracts, just a ban on them being allowed to amortised the transfer fee over more than 5 years.}

{Ed001's Note - it was giving out those lengthy contracts that got Leeds into trouble under Ridsdale - when they tried to sell off the players to balance the books, they found it impossible to shift them and ended up having to continue to pay a portion of their salaries to get them off the books. It could all backfire spectacularly on Chelsea yet.}
