I had a brilliant day yesterday. I live in Woolton so got the train from hunts cross to sandhills and it was a breeze. For the other games we got off at Moorfields but thought we'd see what sandhills was like for this one and there were no problems at all. Coming back we strolled to central station and got the train with no seating issues at all. Again the walk up to central was a easy and not that congested the same as the other times we've been.
The first match was really good and we were very competitive for the first 60 mins. The new players made a difference but there is obvious things the club are trying to fix so I can see a lot of hope for this season
KDH played really well and he reminds me of Jack Wilshire. Him and Garner worked really well together and Garner tried to get him the ball as much as possible. He brought in other players into the attack but Ndyia and Charly need to help him by getting forward quicker.
Charly and Ndyia are brilliant when they get the ball deep and then running with it but they fail really badly at supporting the front players quicker. There were times yesterday they were behind the ball and didn't break their neck to support the front players. That's the area they really need to work on.
Our new striker Barry were really good and clearly a level or 2 above DCL and Beto. Better service and understanding with his new teammates, he'll score goals.
Myko going off injured is a worry as Aznou is not ready for the EPL yet. He'll get better but defensively he needs work. However, O'Brien down a good job again at right back but another is still needed. If he gets injured we don't have anyone because Coleman and Patterson can't do it there anymore.
Right this is the best bit. THE LEGENDS!
I loved this. I shouted SHOOT! Every time Tony got the ball, sang Feed the Yak and got into a party spirit. Why people left before this I have no idea. I'm embarrassed for them.
Baines, Jags and Barry could walk into our team now! And McCarthy looked younger than when he was playing for us! It was brilliant. I loved every minute of it. When Reidy came on it was the biggest cheer and every time he touched the ball there were cheers.
When we finally left after being told for the 100th time it was time to go! We walked out to the sun shining and the glorious view of nelson dock, the liver birds and the old hydraulic tower and clock. It took your breath away. To imagine, in just a couple of years there'll be a central docks park and new buildings all around there, where new will blend with old and create a vibrant ignition to once was a derelict area of the city.
I'm sure the same will be for our club!

Great read mate, you nake quite a few valid points there. Seems everyone had a good day yesterday, I'm a bit jealous as I had a ticket but couldn't get out of work. I can't wait until the first home game when I can see it for myself mate, I've purposely stayed away from all the vids as it was getting built, really want to see it with my own eyes in person.
Just a thought on VM, if his injury is worse than we thought then we can't rely on the new young lad, he needs to get up to speed first and foremost but I think he was more a buy for the future. I read somewhere that Childwell (is that his name) has been made available by Chelsea, could he be worth using one of our loan spots? It's a possibility I suppose.

Great read BlueJohnUns. What did you think of the stadium concourse and stuff on offer? I’m guessing you grabbed refreshments as you were there quite a while.

The ebar is really good for your beers. Super quick and no queueing really. What blew my mind was the Through pass! You went through a turn style by tapping your debit card and whatever you picked up somehow, it just needs and charged you went you left. No idea how it worked. No queueing again and was in and out in 20 seconds. Madness.
The sausage roll was about a foot long and a a full meal. Expensive but it's going to be. Weve got greilish wages to pay!
