It's remarkable to think that Sean Dyche spent so many years in Burnley. You'd think he would be very familiar with Ramadan and all its dietary strictures. But obviously not! He decides to populate his "engine room" with three fasting players!
Even the TNT commentators were talking about the side needing more energy!
Fortunately his substitutions along with a hefty slice of uncharacteristic good fortune got him off the hook!

Fail to see what the problem is with players following their faith, isn't that a human right these days? We are not the only team in the league to have Muslim players so it wasn't the only game that this happened in. If you're going to have a pop at the manager then I'm sure you could find numerous other failings of his. Playing Muslim players isn't one of them really is it? Use of subs, or lack of, tactics, team selection etc etc. You could have picked one of them first!

I wasn’t making any point about Muslim players. My point was to question the wisdom or otherwise of playing 3 players who were fasting in the same midfield at the same time. Perhaps sports nutritionists have solved that issue.

No worries mate, I got wrong end of the stick there. As JB says, we have limited choice in midfield as it is, not sure who else he could have put in that a) didn't upset the fans or b) would do a job against Newcastle.

Luck had nothing to do with our point last night it was well earned second half after some good subs, Gomes for me was our star player whilst Young who got us the penalty also did well, I know we moan about him but he showed his experience in the box for that pen he knew what he was doing when he went down, I think we were unlucky not to take all three points after Garner came so close, it all bodes well for Sat so bring it on 3 points would be massive to at last get away from the bottom three,

I agree JB credit is given where credit is due we played far better when Gomes Seamus and DCL came on, we could all carry on about luck what about the bad kind just how many times have other Teams been lucky because VAR wrongly gave them penalties against us and we end up losing,

I’m not saying we’re good Woburn, but we have some on here who’ll slag the team whatever we do. A good point against Newcastle, if we had any luck, it was well overdue, we’ve played well in games this season and lost so I’ll take a point when we’re off form.

Quite a few negative posts on here this morning, which I’ve come to expect, all understandable. I’d have taken a point all day long away at Newcastle though, however it came. Regardless of the injuries, they still have some very good players and are tough to play against at St James’.
The style of play is not good, but I do t think we have the players to do much else. Tarks and Garner could easily have scored and we’d be talking about a fantastic result.
For me, Dyche is not the man to rebuild our squad. Stay up at all costs, then move him on please.

In Gomes and Onana we have players who can play football. But if all we are going to do is lump it long then these players are wasted.

The championship is a different animal. If they were doing it in the Premier league every week then you would have a point but it's hard to compare the two leagues ans say they would definitely be scoring every game or so.

Well point away at Newcastle is a good one. Still losing the ball too often and very little movement in mid-field. Gomes is our only talented player and should be in the starting eleven.

The late equaliser though very welcome, only papers over yet another woeful performance against a team with a mile long injury list. We were lucky and we need a lot more of that. Must win next game and hope results keep going for us. Hopefully the pen gives DCL a little more confidence but penalties don't really do that as he needs to score in open play to get over his curse.

Got to say that was garbage again. I thought onana was totally ineffective wouldn't be arsed in the slightest to see him go and glad he was subbed. I understand fans frustration with starting Ashley Young. Best we can do is draw. Absolutely dross, don't see us staying up. Strikers are terrible but as others have said we have no creativity. OK 2nd half was bette4 but this lot are beaten before they step off the team coach. Takes them to go a goal down before they show any urgency.

FBS, luck is one thing that we haven't had much of this season so I'll take it whenever it presents itself mate. That point could make the difference at the end of the season. Let's face it, the players and manager are pretty sh*te, if we get out of this mess it will be due to 3 other teams being worse than us. If that's the case then they deserve to go down as we've been consistently shocking this season. I can't wait to see the back of this season tbh.
