I don't think the project is fully finished yet, Brands has improved our player calibre but silva is struggling to get the best out of them so far. Maybe he is to blame for failing to land a defender, a striker, but through all the mess I see building blocks towards our future. I get the feeling that when silva goes we will have the manager brands built this team for, as it sure doesn't fit silvas style. I've no idea who that is it's just my own made up theory.

Agree0 Disagree0

if we do get rid of Silva I think it will depend on who Moshiri takes his advice from if its not Brands and one of his other advisers (that Ed002 has mentioned) then we may be in the same situation again.

Getting rid of Silva is imo of lesser importance than replacing him, surely we have now completed the circuit for naive club managerial decisions .
Hopefully the EFC 'milk cow' that attract pretentious guys that promise to be our new savior etc. are over?!

I think everyone needs to realise the situation we have at present and why we must give Silva more time.

We have gained a reputation as a club who constantly change manager. Sacking Silva now just makes us look even worse, when you think that he hasn't really done anything wrong.

1st season was an 8th place finish. 2nd season is only a quarter of the way through and he has got us into Carabao Cup Quarter Final. League form certainly looks dodgy but it's easy to argue that he has not yet been given a fair chance to turn it around.

I think to avoid negative press, you have to give him until Christmas and assess from there because if league form still stinks, then at least people will acknowledge that a change needed making. A Christmas change is not uncommon after all.

If we try for a new manager now, anybody with even a half decent reputation will swerve us because a cursory glance will show that they have to bring instant success or get sacked also. This leaves us appointing a 'journeyman' or unproven manager to fill the void and that's just destined to be another mistake.

To be clear, i do not think Silva is right for us! - but we really do need to be patient and realise the hesitancy in making a change now. We are a managerial laughing stock and need to change this perception in order to attract someone of high enough quality to take us where we crave.

Half agree Worcester. If there is a chance that a top manager is available now we have to make a move for him. Marco isn't showing any sign of playing his 433 or of improving over the time he has had.
At best he will equal 8th this season.
If though, there isn't anyone out there then yes, let's stick with him until the summer. We aren't going to get relegate under him and you never know, he might win us a cup.

Yes Smit I totally agree, here's the thing, Marco has a nasty little habit of shooting himself in the foot, so in the meantime let's hope he can keep the PL results fairly 'non to contentious' amongst the guys who decide his fate!
We need to abandon the good (but sinking) ship 'S. S. Marco' in an orderly fashion .

Abandoning now and we could end up on the S.S. Moyes until the summer.

Sadly I see a mid table finish and a loose win loose scenario this season. World beaters 1 match dreadful the next 2 or 3. Wonder how much losing his assistant has affected us.
The ss moyes ship would be a tough one, hard to accept him back, but rather him than any of the other mercenaries out there.

''S. S. Moyes ''
Shiver me timbers 🤢.
