Looking ahead at the fixture list, after the Norwich game, I can't see us winning a game until after Christmas.
We are not creating enough clear chances.
Statistics said we had 24 chances on Saturday, but I was there and most of them were just half chances at best.
We need to attack down the flanks and move the defenders about with better / quicker movement. I know its easier saying than achieving but we haven't got a 20+ goals a season striker, so the more real chances we can create the more we are likely to put away.

i think we are creating enough chances, our players just aren't finishing them look back at the brighton and burnley games we had chances to kill it off, same on saturday, against manchester city mina should have had a hattrick and against spurs we should have had penalties its difficult.

As WBlue is saying capitalising on our 'real' chances is the key plus var decisions going in our favour and we could gain more points than perhaps our current PL place suggests .
However we do have company, as there are others in this predicament .
As I have already said December does look a challenge though LHR.

I don’t think we are quick enough, we mess about with the ball across the back four then into midfield then back to the back four. We need to be like Leicester more direct.

Like I have said many times. people miss the point. whilst we are struggling in front of goal, we seem to have say 65% possession, a few shots on goal and then concede after giving away a stupid free kick or a misplaced pass in defence. Then you can see the confidence just drain away. It is no surprise to me that we have not come from behind under Silva to win a game. We need to be more solid in defence before thinking about scoring more. We concede on average a couple of goals a game. So we already need 2 or 3 goals just to get a draw. never mind a win. We had the same last season but by the end we tightened up. I am not sure why we are so panicky and soft at the back but outfield onwards we look ok.

I have mentioned ''clean sheets'' or solid defence too Degsy, they are the foundations needed to progress, and both Pep and Jurgen learnt that the PL attacking standards called for good defenders and they ''both'' obeyed this demand .

We create plenty of chances. If we were even moderately clinical this season, we'd be sitting in 5th with a cushion. The league is bang-average and on our day we can play with anyone. I wouldn't be surprised if we won, lost, or drew any individual match.

We do make a lot of individual errors, which is difficult to blame silva for. I would also say watching Liverpool and city that as an 11 they seem to work harder than us. I have no stats to back this up but just what it seems to my eye. They consistently press harder, and I don't just mean tactics wise. I mean the players when they press go harder than we do, a lot of ours seem to be going through the motions off the ball.

I agree with you Toffe Dave they do press harder much harder then we do and they all do it the same way and when they don’t think about it they are in with purpose straight away they are obviously trained to do this because they all do it the same way, I mentioned in an early post that Liverpool press so hard and fast they are sometimes an infringement on the opposing player.

Sorry coyb79, but not confident about winning any match at the moment because our approach play is so slow, we are not making defences work hard enough/ turning defenders often enough to create REAL chances.
If we had a top class finisher to put away the half chances we are getting it could be a different story.
But its a catch 22 situation no top striker is going to come to us until we start winning and looking like European probables.
