Great news coming out today that Usmanov is going to be investing a £200 million deal over naming right for our new stadium, that was done nice and quickly.

so, would we be able to use this investment to free up funds for a summer transfer budget, or is it a different thing?

It's 200mil for 10 years naming rights so I assume it's 20mil a year. Not a huge amount in football terms.

Why would he pay so much just for naming rights ed?
{Ed002's Note - I really don't know. The club is already aware that the fee paid for the option of being the preferred bidder for naming rights has attracted attention and will likely not be allowed against the significant FFP problem the club has.}

Not cloak and daggers. Besides which this is now a whole new World. Society, Business etc! is now changed forever. It is no stretch at all to state that given this very serious change in circumstances Everton etc! will have their FFP held in abeyance. Besides our so-called troubles are but a grain of sand.
