Well CP are above us in the league, play in London, he will be certain of a place each week, will be able to show his attacking and dead ball skills and will be able to showboat himself for a place in the France team.

Digne apparently fell out with Rafa because he couldn't go back and forth the France enough. I'd assume he will go back to France.

Yea could see that angle too Woburn - the guy probably knows as well as we all do that he can't defend for toffee so not ideal for him to be told to focus on it! From time to time he puts in the odd good ball so can see why he'd be peeved at getting forward less as those good balls would become even rarer!

Don’t agree with putting Godfrey at right back, he gets drawn into the middle to much leaving the wings wide open. About time we had a proper right back who knows his job.

If Digne goes, we sign this Ukrainian lad and also get this Centonze from Metz who I keep seeing rumours about, we should have a much more stable defence for the second half of the season.

I prefer the youth player Mitchell at left back for CP.
Sell Digne and sell Richarlison too.
AG, Demarai, DC, Simms and Dobbin are our future to build the attack around. With Branthwaite being a left footer and Godfrey's versatility our defense takes shape by adding a LB Mykolenko and an actual RB to replace Coleman. Mina back soon too.
Big fan of Nkounkou but he needs to build a resume before starting in the premier league.

Not a great fan of that Mitchell. Lamptey at Brighton be loads better.
Think it's more to do with digne wanting to swan off back to France all the time and rafa wants him to be a footballer and train.
Fair point if its discipline. The teams could do with some.
If you don't want to give rafa the 2/ 3 years to build the team, at least let's see what the window ends like and give him to the summer.
Then if we don't see any progress, we can show him the door.
{Ed002's Note - Lamptey certainly won't be joining Everton but there is an interest in a couple of RBs:
Daniel Munoz (RB) Fiorentina saw him as an option to Zappacosta but ended up taking a loan of Odriozola and will return to Munez in 2022. Everton will perhaps offer an option if funds allow - there have been previous discussions wth Genk but with Brands gone the interest may have gone as well. Work permit could be an issue in England.
Fabien Centonze (RB/RWB) Metz turned down an approach from Marseille who opted for for Pol Lirola but they are still seeking another RB and could return. Metz say Southampton and Everton have sent scouts to watch him this season. Recommended to Chelsea by a very high end independent scout but they will not follow up and the player will not want to be cover.}

Just read in the echo Digne might be part of a swap deal for Brazilian midfielder Arthur, also just the Ukrainian lad is done and will be announced 1/ 1/ 22. According to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

Agree Geoff (ok you can get up off the floor now) , Lamptey would be a cracking signing. Not sure he’s Rafas type though, and would very much doubt we could afford him even if Brighton were interested in letting him go.
