Fabrizio Romano update:

“Everton have officially activated the clause to extend Asmir Begovic deal for further season, as expected.

Cenk Tosun, Fabian Delph, Jonjoe Kenny, Gylfi Sigurdsson leave the club on a free transfer, after Donny van de Beek and Anwar El Ghazi’s loans terminated. ”

Interesting to see Jonnie Kenny listed as leaving on a free - does that mean he hasn’t accepted the contract extension?

Just seen on the Everton website that Kenny has decided to move on in pursuit of new opportunity elsewhere.

Didn’t realise he’d been at the club 16yrs!

Be interesting to see what happens with the rightback position now and whether club think we need another one to cover Patterson and Coleman.

Hopefully Patterson will be first choice and Coleman/ Holgate/ Godfrey/ under 23 player could cover if needed. That way should save some cash.

Pleased Kenny is moving on as are a good few others, we should be fielding a vastly different Team next season, can’t wait bring-it on Frank, show us what you can do mate.

Can’t believe that with the 4 of ours leaving at the end of their contracts that’s almost £300k per week off the wage bill!

If we were also paying the full wages of El Ghazi and DVDB that’s just under another £140k per week off wage bill.

These figures are mental, particularly when you think how little they have contributed this season.

Really hope we sort our recruitment out as these are ridiculous wages to be paying bang average players that have not performed for us.

Well fair play to Kenny I say. He could quite easily have stayed and picked up a decent wage for doing very little. Wish the lad all the best wherever he ends up.

Yeah yeah yeah. Good riddins to the 4 of them as far as I'm concerned. Only efc could keep a player of Kenny ability for 16 years and only now move him on after it appears he rejected us!

Kenny is versatile as is Davies. Whitty39 no concept of football.

Kenny asked for assurances before signing, he obviously didn't get them. Good luck to the lad. At least he didn't choose to stay, taking a wage for sitting on the bench. He does the right thing and some people still kick him. Knew him when he was a kid and he's a cracking lad and evertonian. It didn't work out for him and I'm gutted for the lad. Hope you land on your feet ( if you're reading this) mate.

Agree time they moved on, all of them had plenty of time to impress at last we have got rid, long may it continue with many more.

Totally agree GB. It's the odd saying isn't it. no sentiment in football. I'm sure he's a lovely lad but unfortunately he's not of premier league quality like half our squad. He could be more versatile than a Swiss army knife but if that swiss army knife and all of its accessories are blunt then its not really serving any purpose is it despite its versatility. I've no ill feeling towards Kenny just stating facts.
