Negotiations started with Burnley to sign Cornet, allegedly they are happy for a deal to take place for instalments instead of the release clause being met which may help us a lot

This would be a fantastic signing, I really rate him and he is versatile.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeah saw that mate good player hope we can get him.

After what Mr Moshri said 'our Chairman and DoF busy trying to bring in strength' it would appear that BK does still have the key to the toy cupboard. I would much rather say thanks Bill but please now it is time to step aside.

Looked a top player. Great set pieces too. Surprised no one’s snapped him up already. Whilst this is just another rumour, let’s hope it’s one with some substance.

Genuinely can’t see Burnley wanting to do us any favours with regards to paying in instalments.

They wanted to take us to court over our finances as felt we’d cheated them and they were relegated because we fudged the books.

We’ve also signed their best defender on a free.

Whilst I would welcome Cornet at Everton, genuinely cannot see Burnley helping us get the deal over the line unless we are paying above market price or there are no other interested parties and they want his wages off their payroll asap.

He has a buy out clause - so if we match it it doesn't really matter if they want to do us any favours and don't need to pay above market price

Their best defender was leaving in any case - he was released so I don't think that matters either - technically we got him as a free agent from no club

We seem to be on decent terms - transferred a few players between us in recent years.

I respectfully disagree, DFS. That suggests that he is working for the owner and is tasked, along with the DoF, with negotiating deals for the players the manager/ DoF have identified. Hardly gives him the keys to anything.

Burnley have no issue with Everton.
Burnley would have no case against us until last seasons books were released which will be early next year.
If they were going to complain it should have been as soon as the last years figures were released earlier in the year not when it looked like they were relegated.
Clubs aren't like fans and will do business and don't hold grudges.
We nicked Watfords manager and they still sold us Ricky.

Regarding instalments they will most likely do what is best for them. If they want rid then they'll have to take the best deal.

{Ed002's Note - Why make up stuff about the books. The FFP books have already been submitted. This is yet againembarrassing.}

You could be right Bluespud, I was more referring to the season on season windows we are late to the party.

Actually DFS if you listen to he 1st AGM with Moshiri and Bill. Bill said in that meeting, I'm always saying wait a minute hang on, you can't sign everyone. It has been clear moshiri has been getting bad advice and not listening to Bill. Putting Bill back in charge of negotiating might be what we need to put the club on a stable footing.

We will see BJ, for me there is caution, which is good and then the caught in headlights freeze. Latter years BK (my opinion) has displayed the headlight syndrome. Comes to all of us with age.
