Ruben Vinegre very close to signing according to reports.

Why are we obsessed in buying extra players for positions we don’t need? At one stage it was number 10s, then left wingers and now it seems left backs. I’m happy with Myko and Nkonku as our LBs, surely there are much more urgent areas eg striker and centre midfield to reinforce. I know it’s a loan but I still don’t get it!

Maybe it's because we can't afford players in those positions or it's just no one half decent wants to come to us.

We will be working on more than one deal. We need a squad, not a first 11. Frank may see Vinagre as a wide forward. This idea that we have a dozen left wingers is simply not the case. We need competition, we don’t have it.

If it’s true then agree Pig - makes no sense as we should be looking at other areas as a more pressing need.

However may be usual nonsense and we are being linked with him due to him being a player Thelwell had at wolves.

We will be looking at other targets.

Ffs seems like a ridiculous signing we are glass through the centre with little or no back up.

26 Jul 2022 11:40:14
Was he a former Therwell signing at Wolves?

If we are interested could add to the versatility and squad depth and is supposed to be a cheap signing
Could mean Myky plays on the left of a back 3 with Vinagre as left wing back to mix things up.

We have no strength and depth. I understand the view that we need reinforcements elsewhere, but if the timing of the deal and the price are right, I don’t understand the negative response. He’s a good age, represents a move to signing players will sell on value too. Let him come, and more to follow hopefully.

{Ed002's Note - Vinagre is only being offered on loan - and there are talks going on with another side already.}

Have to agree with the posts above surly first and foremost we need a replacement for ricky whether that's a loan or a buy but ruben vinegra don't understand the logic makes no sence hope its clickbait.

26 Jul 2022 13:06:34
Reports, if correct, suggest a loan to buy option. A sensible approach for any player if possible. If only we’d loaned half our squad before buying outright!

26 Jul 2022 15:24:51
Vinagre is wanted because it's extremely evident that Nkounkou isn't a PL player.

26 Jul 2022 15:24:58
We loaned to buy Gomes JB. Look how that's gone.

And how did buying Klassen, Siggy, Ramirez etc go?
