Having three good quality CBs would be great so let’s hope Keane and/ or Holgate are off. Either way, having a cost effective replacement ready for Branthwaite is good business.

Don’t see why bringing this lad in means Branthwaite is going. What it will do is provide solid competition, while allowing us to let Keane and Holgate go.

It could just be smart recruitment and planning ahead. I know that is hard to believe, especially given how inept and amateur we have been in recent years.
I think JB only goes if we get offered silly money.
He will have another decent season and then will leave for a better side than Utd.
O'Brien will be bedded in then and on we go.

My hope is we are just building for the future with a third solid CB and JB is untested without Tarks beside him and Tarks is definitely the leader at the back
I also feel the wages is likely more the agent pushing

Totally agree Welsh about JB without Tarks, who is and has been even in his Burnley days vastly underrated, JB has a lot to thank his progress for imo.

I don't think Utd can actually afford JB unless they sell a few players oh how the mighty have fallen lol. Tarks has been an awesome signing reminds me of Jags gives his all every game.
