Really? What’s he actually done? I think that would be madness.

10 Nov 2024 22:20:12
Nothing much apart from a cup. But then that's one more than Dyche. A risk in my opinion.

10 Nov 2024 23:06:04
He did okay with psv he developed few players such as brainthwaite and savio guy at city and won cup .

Depends on the strategy doesn’t it?
I hope they go for someone that will progress youngsters moving forward. Watched the Barce game last night, over 30 players in the two squads from Spain.

Can't please everyone. People on here say they want someone young and hungry, then when they get suggested it's too much if a risk. Then Moyes gets the tired and old treatment. We ain't getting pep.

That's right FC89. Even some would be anti Pep. Some like dinosaur football and expect hard work and dogs of war and some like fast counter attacking football with skillful attacking players and others want a pure football where everyone is comfortable with the ball. Either way managers are what they are. The voice and face of a club, paraded out in front of the ownership for good or bad and where the buck stops. I'd have been more supportive of SD of he actually played the 442 (oh old fashioned and ironic to what you say FBS) he was rumoured to be an advocate for. Some think of your don't like Dino ball then you must want tikky tappy and that nothing in the middle exists. We need a new approach and whoever it's going to be had to win games and fans. As it always has been. I personally think there's a handful in the championship worth a punt. Hunger and work ethic is all I want to see from day 1. Oh actually I'd also like Carsley to interview for it too. We need to break the loop of "oh we only have agricultural players so must get a Dino coach to suit" absolute nonsense.

I’d take him he’s done ok since eth left.

Club need to remember what the badge stands for and start to move back towards that. Whether that be through the u18s and u21s, developing players to play football with confidence.
Agree that doesn't just mean tiki taki going nowhere football, but having the ability to play in several different ways. There has to be more than one tactic, and players need to be good enough to adapt to any situation.
All this starts with the manager, he sets the bar, and our current manager has shown what happens if you set the bar low.
Carsley is an interesting one. But I have read that De Zerbi is not to happy at Marseille at the minute. Would love us to get him.

He’s also now just officially left Man U today after Amorims arrival, told he wouldn’t be part of his coaching set up, there could really be legs in this rumour!

Think we need to complete the takeover first… do the Eds still think it will be in December or later?

{Ed025's Note - December seems the most likely to me BR..

11 Nov 2024 20:05:53
De Zerbi is an interesting option.

12 Nov 2024 12:18:22
De Zerbi, Van Nistelrooy Potter and Carsley all managers who have more than just one game plan

Then mentality of trying to keep it tight and steal a win is soul destroying to watch.

Sebastian Hoeneß from Stuttgart, is another worth looking at prefers attacking team, that starts with a 442 pressing formation, that morphs in to 3124 when attacking using a double pivot midfield that splits the centrebacks and pushes in to link the attack. The fullbacks and wingers switch between there wing and attacking midfield roles depending on players ability, position, and opposition, when supporting the attackers. Most importantly he always plays twin strikers either 2 strikers spliting the opposing defenders with 1 coming short and the other running in behind, or a deep lying forward running on to the through balls from midfield and crossing wingers. Watch Stuttgart's 5-1 demolition of Dortmund, or fantastic win over Juventus in the Champions League. Chances of us getting him decent as ges lined up for Bayern job as Daddy is on the board, but needs experience of harder League.
