Just read that apparently the players are in favour of a Sean Dyche contract extension and love him.
HAHAHAHAH.
How do these journos get away with some of the drivel they publish.

Ofcourse the players love him. He allows them to earn a fortune for very little in return.

Must be the only place where crime pays.

Depends which players you ask. If you asked Keane, Doucs, Harrison or McNeil, they would all say he’s doing a great job.
{Ed001's Note - to be fair, the reason why he did so well at Burnley was his man management. The players do love him. It is not that which is the issue with him - it is the style of football that he needs to change.}

And the plethora of excuses that he uses to shift any accountability away from himself Ed.
Likes to go on about the problems that have been here long before him and frames it as though he has only just got through the door to implement change.
I found two things particularly alarming from his presser the other day.
1. Apparently we dominated Forest.
2. Scoring goals is the hardest thing to do in football. If it was easy, then everyone would be doing it. Then in the next breath says that he doesn't deem finishing coaches necessary.
So we are struggling at something and have been since he came in. Nothing is changing but he keeps on doing the same thing to address the problem.
The arrogance of the man is frightening.
{Ed001's Note - good point, it is strange how that has happened there, he never did that at Burnley. I think he is just out of his depth.}

He will go mate, Freidkin will do what has to be done of that I have no doubt.

I worked in Burnley for 11 years. Most of my work colleagues were either Burnley or Blackburn fans. The Burnley fans seemed to agree "he is the right man to get us out of the championship but, not the right one to keep us in the premiership". Fair comment I guess based on history.

001 and BN hit it right. Arrogance comes from being out of ones depth.

Tbh Ed, I don't know if my memory is deceiving me but I actually thought some of the football he had Burnley playing at times was respectable and effective. By no means was it pretty and stylish but it still had attacking impetus and guile to it. It certainly wasn't this passive, pedestrian dross that he has us playing.
Trippier, Brady, Defour, Westwood, Ings, Wood, Barnes. All would walk into our current side.
{Ed001's Note - yeah it is very odd what is happening at Everton. He said if he had the better players he would play a different style, but he has been handed some quality this summer, particularly Ndiaye, but the style has got worse if anything. I just don't understand it.}

Just another one of his excuses for me Ed. I think we have a better quality of player than he had at his disposal at Burnley. Granted, man for man I think the character of some of the lads at Burnley was better for sure but then that comes down to him and his staff to get our players to show the same commitment and desire.
{Ed001's Note - I agree completely, he has the players now to play better football, so he should be doing so.}

I don’t think he has better players, you take Ndiaye, Pickford and Mangala out and the rest are very poor, average at best mate.
03 Jan 2025 14:21:22
I agree Guernsey mate but I think to a man/ as a unit, I think we have a better overall side than Burnley.
I would add Garner and Branthwaite to that list of yours.
Don't particularly rate these highly but McNeil, Gana (now old) , Tarkowski are also as good as the players he had at the dingles.

Saying we need better players must really gel with the team. Remember Moyes saying the same at Man Utd. Switched the whole squad off. Dyche doing similar. Try a bit of encouragement you goof head Dyche.

What’s a goof head mate.
