My lad tells me that Richy has directly responded to a post on social media asking him to come home. Wonder if this could be a goer in the next couple of weeks?

Don’t see it happening myself JB but I was adamant that Moyes wouldn’t be coming back.

Would be nice but can’t see Levy letting him go cheap.

Ange needs a transfer kitty and he doesn't fancy Richy so why not?
30-35mill for him when it would cost us 30 million to keep Dom seems doable.

What is it with fans wanting him back?
He was great for us, but since he left he’s been nowhere near as good.
He also has got a terrible injury record with Spurs.
We need to find the next “Richarlison” not try and bring back the current one.
Need to move on from being Sentimental FC.

Hard but good point Dan.

I imagine it is to do with his record when in a Blue shirt. His love for the badge and the fans. His effort and desire to win.
You can't compare his spell with Spurs with us. He mostly played as a striker for one. His competition for places was much higher, which meant patchy spells in the side. His only proper spell in the team, he scored 11 goals and got 4 assists in half a seasons worth of minutes.
You do realise fans have differing opinions and more than one can be right don't you.
I don't want him back by the way. But I understand completely why some fans do.

Totally understand fans have differing opinions that’s what it’s all about.
However we need to move away from sentiment with recruitment.
Can easily compare his spell at spurs with his time at us and the biggest thing is he missed 19 games through injury in 4 seasons for us, however has missed 47 games in 3 seasons for Spurs!
That’s nothing to do with players ahead of him and competition to get in the side it’s his injury record.

A loan (after Harrison and Broja sent out) with an option to buy at best.

His injury record of late is a worry to me. His ability to improve us is already apparent. I wouldn’t call it sentiment as much as I’d call it a no brainer if it wasn’t for the worry of his fitness.
My point is this. When we sold him we became a poorer side going forward. So if we could trust in his fitness then having him back would simply be putting the missed quality back in the team. Not so much sentiment but more common sense.

Quite right Toffee Ace. I think todays society tend to look at things as very black and white and no in between. I can see an argument for both sides personally mate.
With the wages he would be on, the fee it would take, his age and the fact that we have probably seen his best years, I would prefer us to get somebody in on the up, like we did with him from Watford. Would I be mad if we got him in? Absolutely not. The lad gives his all in any shirt but with us, we would get an extra 20%. There is no denying he would certainly add goals and assists, it is just keeping him off the treatment table that would be the real task.
I can't see it happening though. Levy is a helm and would want too much for what we can afford atm.
