I am truly grateful for Moyes saving our club from relegation, and the damage it would have done to our club. However, some resent rumours leave me greatly concerned that we might be about to repeat some of our recent disastrous decisions.

Signing old stars, past there best on big money long term deals. Lindooft, from united, the two from west ham, plus resigning Keane, or god for bid Harrison, such steps are what put us in this mess.

Without detracting from Moyes achievements, it should be acknowledged that our salvation was considerably assisted by the lamentable quality of the three promote clubs.

The future is surly in young, hungry individuals, and yes they may require some polishing, and will make mistakes along the way, but they would have to be real accident-prone to match the frailtys of a Keane.
I hope my fears are routed in paper rumours, I just don't want our new dawn to fail on a repeat of past mistakes.

Don’t believe everything you see on the internet, Moyes strongest asset is his eye for a player, pienaar cahill yobo the list goes on and on even soucek and coufal at West Ham all relatively unknown. Let’s wait until we actually see the signings he makes before judging?

I totally agree with you PSG. Today’s team sheet speaks volumes. Why oh why pick Harrison yet again and Doucouré and leave out Alcarez. Surely with safety now assured we should be experimenting with some of our younger players to see if they can make the step up next season. Moyes must know by now who he wants to keep and who is not good enough, us fans certainly do. Why keep picking players who in our eyes have no future at the club. Now is the perfect time to blood certain players and maybe save ourselves some money and wages in the transfer window.

He sees them all in training week in week out.

Moyes has not saved us. I never liked Dyche, but as quite a few reckoned, under Dyche we would have finished 15th to 17th. Same as with the messiah who a lot wanted back. Both Dyche and Moyes are like a mathematical equation. Both have a common denominator. Neither go out to win. One went out to not concede goals, the other not to lose. All very well and dandy, but, neither methods will get you challenging for a top 6/ 7 place or, winning a cup to qualify for europe. Successful sides go out to win and have big players some with egos. Neither Dyche or Moyes handle egos or big players. Moyes proved this at Man Utd and in Spain. Both build sides with workhorses and then when gone someone has a mess to sort out. I said some months ago Moyes was not the answer for long term success and nothing has changed my mind. So we enter the final games next week and wonder where we will end up. At least not in the Championship.

Will all change next season Nick, Davey will be be with several new recruits mate, exciting times am glad this season is almost over and he can rebuild in the summer, we stayed up end of mission for him.

Moyes may well see them all in training but that does not always equate to which players to give time to. I read week in week out how improved in training Harrison is, gets to match time and he is consistently lacking. He may well run his legs off, but when it comes to crossing a ball he is rubbish. We need to give game time to Alcarez, Chermiti, Tim not to mention several in the under 21 team.

Get used to it, I wouldn't expect much to change next season under DM.

26 Apr 2025 18:02:14
Of course it does we only see part of it he sees it all, would prefer his judgement myself, but only my opinion also let’s see who comes in in the summer and just as important who goes then we can have a gripe YY.

Yes SD would have kept us up but we wouldn't be safe yet and if you think that being safe on last day is acceptable then you're mad. Moyes clearly has saved us and saved the fans from the doom. And for the 3rd time in 4 weeks I'll end with "raised form breeds raised expectations" DMs going to get a predictable backlash now but until we sign some new players, we have what we have. I agree Alcarez should play more but clearly something with his deal and the financials is being played out and why not as we are safe. Barely any of us can name a youth player let alone a few to step up as we don't have any close enough. Also we have had 5 seriously tough opponents. I'm chuffed generally but now it's all about next season. This ones done. Still think we get a few more wins and will be in mid 40s and SD would be nowhere near that haul. Get real.

Sensible post FBS, until Davey has his own new recruits no point moaning our Team is what it is, we stayed up end of now on to exciting times.

Dyche this season didn't remotely look like getting us to 15th. TFG made the right call at the right time and it worked out forbtheir investment.

27 Apr 2025 09:41:20
Yam Yam, which several u21 players should get game time?

27 Apr 2025 10:43:32
Martin Sharif, Omari Benjamin, Roman Dixon to name but 3. Our current strike force week in week out sadly lacking, we could do worse than giving these guys a shot. Same with Dixon. Ok they might make mistakes but it’s all about getting experience and seeing how these guys can step up. We have nothing to lose in our last few games and who knows we might be surprised.

{Ed025's Note - i think your right YY and cant believe we are playing the same 11 virtually every week mate, i dont want to have a go at at the manager because he has done well results wise but should he really be playing players who have no future with us?, or do Leopards never change their spots?, we will certainly have a better clue when next season starts when hopefully we will have cleared out the dross and brought in some good players..

27 Apr 2025 16:49:14
I don't think we should have an under 21 team. We should play the u18s there instead as it will teach them how to play against bigger, stronger, faster players as i find u21 to be sterile and doesn't provide the appropriate schooling for young players.

Any players they thunk potentially able to make the first team they could send on loan to Championship or abroad to prove they can make it. The list of previous players proves this to be a more effective method to develop players.

27 Apr 2025 18:00:32
Think Ipswich Leicester and Southampton kept us up.

27 Apr 2025 23:42:49
The one answer to concern about Moyes. Our new owner are not big on sentementalty, they have shown at Roma, if the manager does not deliver, afder they have put in squad building support, he is very quickly, down the road, regardless of their attachment to the clubs history.
So, I am far from convinced the he is the man to return Everton to football's top table, but the proof of the pudding will quickly show in the results, but please, no more players brought in at the fag end of their sell by date, big contracts that if they don't deliver, cannot be moved on because they are on redicles wages.

28 Apr 2025 18:07:04
DM has given us what some of the fans, me included, thought was beyond our capabilities, that is PL football at BMD.
When I read stuff about the Hammers and the predicament they are in now and how Potter has pretty much failed to ignite them, I wonder what's next for us, TFG as previously mentioned seem to put results before over sentimentality etc. .
Our new stadium plus investment in new players will certainly be a new benchmark for the supporters and owners alike, I hope David Moyes does well next season, I really do because I am sure the scrutiny dial will be turned up a tad.

Didn't people say the same about Dyche when he was in charge? 'He sees O'Brien in training every day so he knows what he is doing" Mmmm.
