Just reading Delap has chosen Chelsea over us Newcastle and Man U, unto the next target then.

{Ed025's Note - we are going to see more of this thing over the next few weeks i think GB..

Agree4 Disagree0

29 May 2025 14:02:32
Yep for sure Ed would reckon we are looking at targets know one knows about mate.

29 May 2025 14:27:08
I felt it was quite obvious LD would be moving elsewhere with a lot of other teams interested offering European football.
What we should be looking for are players that actually WANT to play for us. It makes a massive difference. You’ve only got to look at the season DCL has had. We should let him go and I’ve always been a fan of his (when he’s fit) . Surely he owes us some wages. In reality he should be grateful with an offer of around £50 a week.

29 May 2025 14:28:37
Que sera, sera…

Didn’t think he’d choose us. Shame as he’ll be on the bench for a World Cup year.

29 May 2025 14:52:15
That’s a shame I can’t see him getting a game at Chelsea or Newcastle and we’re better than united.

29 May 2025 14:59:52
Dont think he'll be an improvement on Jackson? Madness lads madness. Think he will do really well in a footballing side.

29 May 2025 15:22:05
We should go for Jackson now instead then.

29 May 2025 16:45:38
I think we should target the French league for a striker.

Emegha seems Chelsea bound on a pre-contract which is a shame but Amine Gouiri looks a brilliant player too. Not sure he is attainable though due to only signing for Marseille in the last few months. Can play off the left or up to.

That leaves Kalimuendo who would also represent a smart buy.

29 May 2025 17:54:09
His best pal is palmer aswell. does no1 rate that Rangers forward anymore? Thought we was going to sign him in January but he hasn't been linked since.

29 May 2025 18:53:21
Until some sort of wage restriction is introduced, the clubs with the highest commercial incomes will be able to stick players on their benches that will earn a packet who would start in other teams. The likes of Chelsea, Utd, City etc can spend £100m+ season on season and buy who they want from other clubs. The fact the term ‘selling club’ exists is a testament to the problems with the prem financial structures. A system which will probably end in a euro super league within the next decade in my opinion. Whether it be Cunha, Delap, Grealish or whoever, I fear there will be a drain of talent from teams not in the champions league. But

I don’t blame the players. I work in education and if I could do the same job for more money with less time in the classroom, I would. It’s what lots of heads do but that’s a different opinion all together!

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that BR..

29 May 2025 23:14:13
Sick of hearing this oh he’s gone there because they can offer European football. Utter garbage, they go to who offers them the most money. Cunha to Utd is a perfect example. Delap going for the money and Chelsea offer the most, because they put players on crazy contracts.

30 May 2025 00:29:59
The teams that can offer more money are the teams that are in Europe though ain’t they. I think all players are different but it’s the agents who are in it for the money. I read it was Cunha’s lifelong dream to play for united and I know it’s going back some but bainesy had better offers when he moved from Wigan. I think it depends on the player they’re all different. The agents are all the same.

30 May 2025 03:04:57
I still say that Vardy can do a job off the bench. Yes I know he was at school with Jesus but he still knows where the back of the net is.

We will not get the top strikers this summer because of our recent history. A top 10 finish next season will make us a far better option for world class players.

NSNO UTFT IMWT.

30 May 2025 08:47:50
WT I would rather we pay him to have a word with some of his old classmates, just for this window mate, lol.

30 May 2025 09:04:57
I don’t think he play every week there. Maybe we will get him on loan and save the 30 million transfer fee.

30 May 2025 09:14:28
Man Utd aren't in Europe DogPuke Peter. So maybe he's right eh?

30 May 2025 09:41:51
I miss the good old days when a team just went out and got someone without any hint of it before hand. I remember Andy gray joining us but I had no idea we were even looking at him! Now, everything is open to all and sundry.

{Ed025's Note - its called the internet Tomtom..

30 May 2025 09:55:10
I’m surprised that so many thought that Delap was a possibility. With a release clause, he’s a bargain at today’s prices so a big team was always going to go in for him. There must be similar players that would be cheaper in Europe.

{Ed025's Note - i do like Delap JB but i dont think its the biggest loss in the world, yes he is young and had a great season with Ipswich but his loan stints with Stoke and Preston were not great so he was always going to be a gamble, we move on now to the next target mate..

30 May 2025 10:54:52
My point is they’ll move to where they want to move to BB. The teams who have European football can offer more money, that’s quite obvious and is one of the reasons every team is trying to get towards the top of the table but Cunha’s life long dream was to play for united so that’s why he pushed for a move there. The players will push for a move to where they want to move to. The agents are the ones who are in it for the money.

30 May 2025 11:07:23
Like If there’s any truth in the rumour of us and Newcastle being after Jack Grealish and we both wanted him on loan on exactly the same money/ terms. As unfortunate as it is he would move to Newcastle.

{Ed025's Note - we cant afford to pay his wages Peter..

30 May 2025 11:33:24
I understand this Ed. I’m not sure anyone could tbh. It’s just an example that teams with European football have a bigger pull than the likes of ourselves .
Let’s say City were paying a big slice of his wages and both Newcastle and Everton were offering him exactly the same terms, unless he was a die hard Everton fan or something he would move to Newcastle as they can offer European football.

{Ed025's Note - yeah i get that Peter mate..

30 May 2025 11:36:43
Some players would choose Club World Cup, Champions League etc, over an extra 20k a week. Money does talk, but players also want exposure.

30 May 2025 11:37:15
Agree entirely Ed, not seen anything to suggest we could get a similar talent for 30 ish million elsewhere.

30 May 2025 19:39:55
If Alcaraz reaches his full potential, he’ll be half that price JB. There are bargains to have out there…

… let’s hope Davey finds some of them.

30 May 2025 22:49:38
Can’t wait to see who TNS sign!
