As we have an abundance of right footed left wingers I. E. Richarlison, Bernard, Iwobi, Bolasie,
Gordon, heres a novel idea what about a left footed right winger! Last summer we were linked with Zaha, and eventually signed Iwobi (you've guessed it! ) both right footed left wingers. Before anyone corrects me Iwobi played mostly on the left for Arsenal. So what about a left footer who's actually pretty good on the right? Would score a dozen goals a season and probably create the same amount. Has premier experience, definitely doesn't lack confidence and would cost about 20/ 25 mill. I think on his day can be a match winner just needs consistency and a run in the team which I'm sure Carlo would give him. His name Xherdan Shakiri what does anyone think? got to be worth a punt, Look what he did for a poor Stoke side at Goodison a few years ago.

Shakiri? Are you serious? A Liverpool player? Always looks overweight and uninterested. Scores a few crackers I’ll give you that, but he’s not consistent. Can’t get into their staring 11. How do you think he’d score a dozen for us? Big no from me.

Dont get me wrong I'm not fussed on an ex Liverpool player for obvious reasons. However he's a goal every 4 games that's close to 10/ 12 goals a season. As for him not starting for Liverpool really, hello Salah, Mane! Also he's a Liverpool player. So based on that logic you wouldn't want Van Dyke, Salah or Mane, let's stick with Walcott, Schneiderlin then. No wonder were we are and they're where they are.

I was one of the ones that would have welcomed him here a few years ago. The guy was the main man at Stoke and backed himself to go across the park. He's done well on the rare chance he's had but surely he'd have preferred to have another 80 + matches under his belt? Sure, he's a champion league winner and fair play.
Certainly not the player we need these days. 3 years older, 3 years fatter.

Iwobi does his best work central. Gordon has had 5 minutes. Bolasie will never pull the shirt on again. So as much as it's a long old ed2 joke, we only have 2 LW and both Bernard and Rikky can play across the front. A RW is certainly needed though even if I disagree with every other word.

Dplanno - I think you miss my point regards him being a Liverpool player. We rarely do business with them and the last player we bought from them was Gary abblett in 1992! 28 years ago.

I’d love Salah, mane and Virgil and was gutted when we pulled the plug on signing Virgil from Celtic.

There is very little chance of us buying any player from Liverpool let alone a world class player so your Salah, mane and Virgil comment a bit pointless - all teams would want them but Liverpool would only sell when they were no longer performing or they received a ridiculous offer.
