You will never recoup the fee you paid when an ageing player has a year left on his contract. Getting him off the wage bill would be bonus enough. One or two more high earners out and Ancellotti can buy one or two key players to improve the squad. A CB, a CM, and perhaps a striker or a right winger.

I'd snap their hand off if we were paying them the £2M to take him. It mostly feels like we're playing with 10 men when he's on the pitch. He's always been a Nice guy off the pitch, let's make him one on the pitch too.
