Newcastle keen to sign DCL, yeah right what a load of cobblers, papers phew.

Would hate to see him leave but think more chance of him going to Newcastle than arsenal.
They desperately need a no9 and he’d fit the Bill perfectly.
Also probably far easier to get him than some of the players they’ve been linked with.
Would not be surprised if this is a genuine interest, however as they are managerless at the moment will have to see who gets the job to see if this rumour has some legs to it.

Well the only reason he would go to Newcastle is if they offered crazy transfer money and crazy wages. Why would Everton let him go otherwise and why would DCL want to go to a team at the bottom of the league unless the money was so high he could not resist it? Newcastle are in a mess and our own experience with a rich owner throwing money around shows that success is not guaranteed.

To be honest I would prefer to keep him. We know how hard finding a striker is.

Having said that, we will lose him at some point regardless I believe, and I think we would get more money from Newcastle than anyone else. Top clubs have to pay less, as they can generally unsettle players. And we definitely need the money.

EFCONE what makes you think we need the money?

Our FFP situation might be something to do with it
We need to drop the wage bill though not just shift a good asset
Couple of seasons living inside our means.

Ffp has nothing to do with how much money the club has. And it’s not just about reducing the wage bill. The club need to generate more income, hence the need for a new ground and finishing in European places.
Year upon year we are losing ground to the clubs above us because we are not generating anywhere near what they bring in. So finishing 10th (as some have stated would be a good season) would only see us going backwards.

For me this makes quite a funny read. I’ve got there being Zero chance of DCL joining Newcastle, as much chance as there would have been a few weeks ago before there takeover. Why would you swap Everton for Newcastle at the moment lol? Certainly not cause of a takeover. If DCL leaves Everton it would be for a team that he believes are better than us, that are playing in Europe and a club where he would believe he could further his career. I’m 10000% certain he would move to Arsenal (or spuds) way before he would move to Newcastle through what they can offer him. Newcastle can’t offer him any more than what we can. In fact they can’t even offer him as much (stadium) . I personally don’t think he’d be interested to a move to Newcastle at all and with all that being said I don’t want or see him moving anywhere from Everton anytime soon, thank god!
