According to Romano, we have agreed a deal in principle with Sporting for Youssef Chirmiti. No mention of fee. We will see if this is another damp squid or if it has actually got legs soon enough. Any info on this guy, eds? Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Youssef Chirmiti (S) Sporting were surprised when Bournemouth asked after him given they have come to the clonclusion he will never be good enough and goal scoring ability seems to be missing - and that causing a rejection for loans to lower league sides Torreense and Feirense. A third-party has been offering him to sides in the EPL - hence the surprise at the interest of Bournemouth. Hard to see how he could get a Work Permit for England. and the PL.}

I thought there was a new rule relaxing work permits for a certain amount of players?
I could be wrong though?.

{Ed002's Note - Only if commitments are given for English and Welsh players with a view to increasing future HG and CD quotas - so it is not attractive as it sounds.}

Nice to have a bit of context thanks Ed002 for the info. Looks like if we do sign him he would need to be loaned out to try to get WP ala Onyekuru so pointless really.

{Ed002's Note - Everton could pay well over the odds or apply for an exception based on talent.}

Happy to give the lad a chance, I do hope he’s the first of 2 strikers through the door though. Can we rest our hopes on a 19yr old in a relegation scrap? … I still hope a deal for Dia could be done.

If we pay over the odds, we may as well change the club symbol to one of the mugs you can get in the souvenir shop….

At least MK had scored a few goals in a decent league at the time of purchase, chalkie. Suppose you can't read too much into stats but his goal return is a worry. Is it a case of get whoever we can now as long as they play as a striker? Board and owner are screwing this club yet again.

Isn't this "paying over the odds" an oxymoron? Or is a jar of Strawberry jam from Bills garden and a couple of FMs old Saville Row suits the currency we are dealing with? Maybe the players have had a whip round?

In the end we made money on Moise Kean! I can’t see that happening with this lad as Eds who know far more than me don’t sound like they think it’s a clever signing! I’m hoping this one doesn’t come off!
