Magnificent performance today, an absolute joy to watch. Oviedo looks a class act on the ball. Natural born footballer with two great feet. Exceptional link up play with Pienaar all game. Couldn't believe what I was seeing got to say. He will be given more testing times defensively though for sure. Interesting to see Roberto experiment with the 3 at back for the last 15, maybe he will suprise Utd by starting with it, allowing Oviedo and Coleman a bit more protection to go out and reproduce what they did today.

Pienaar was the outstanding player for me yesterday - he didn't stop working all game. Those who view Oviedo as a lightweight squad player, thrown on in the cup games and at the fag end of league matches, might have second thoughts. He stepped up yesterday. No sign of nerves - just got on with it and seemed to relish the challenge. The players' reaction to his goal was a great moment.

If Baines does go in January (which seems to be the consensus), his injury couldn't have come at a more opportune time (in terms of introducing a replacement and preparing the team for life without him). It seems to be the Everton way that we just get on with it when a 'big' players goes.

The amount of bold decision making and creative play on show yesterday is ample proof that you don't need to pimp your club out to a Thaksin Shinawatra to shine.

United will be a tough test, but if we can keep Saturday's verve ticking over until Wednesday night, we might see David Moyes looking as stony-faced as he was last time he faced Roberto Martinez.

{Ed025's Note - i agree with all of that kenny...good post mate
