I don't know if anyone else saw the article in the D. Mail a few days ago but it has made me think. It suggested at the moment that Everton are playing so well because we have RM style of attack with DM's defence. The question is will Everton suffer in a couple of years as our defenders leave, which some probably will through transfers or age, and RM defenders are brought in?

Based on RM's signings to date, IMO, there have been excellent signings and and not so good signings. I don't think that in time Everton's defence will become like Wigan's defence but what do others think?

I think that if Roberto proves himself he too will be head hunted sooner rather than later.

Arsenal have learnt at their peril that u can score as many goals as u want but without a defence u win sweet fa. cup.

There are a few managers that are forward thinking. roberto being one of them. He just gets football and is intelligent and enthused to learn.
People are hammering moyes because of utds performances, but he knew what he wanted and knows what to do. Utd will be patient in his 1st season unless they are clearly out of running fora CL spot.

Sorry to digress in the middle but Roberto hit nail on head the other day. U now have 11 defenders in a team and 11 attackers. In otherwords all in it together, understand one another and work hard everywhere!

Just can't see any of our defenders leaving. Jags will finish his career with us as captain, Distin still has at least a year in him with Stones to come in. I can't see Coleman leaving since he would now cost a fortune and if we lose Baines, Oviedo looks a quality replacement. Out of the protective screen in front of them, McCarthy will be with us for years and Barry looks like he will sign on a free. I think we will keep this defensive unit for years yet.
