What does everyone think to playing stones in the Eric Dier role? Just in front of the back four but a licence to go forward. This way it would take the pressure off his defence side but make the most of his passing.

Was saying that all last season mate the lads talented enough with the ball to do that and I reckon that's why city want him to play him there.

Couldn't agree more, it would allow him the freedom to move forward with the ball and use his range of passing and would also be protection against the occasional mistake he still has in him with defenders behind him to provide cover.

Only trouble is he'd get even less time on the ball and might get exposed even more.

Central Defensive Midfielder in a bit of the Yaya Toure ilk would suit him best I think.
