The current situation at our great club is quite simply breathtaking.4 people deserve recognition for the transformation:
1. David Moyes - steadied the ship and built the foundations for where we are now.
2. Mr Moshiri - for breezing into our club without the big fanfare and ridiculous statements of intent. haut his money where his mouth is - in the right way.
3. Ronald Koeman - for being a legend of the game and believing in what our club has to offer and not making a knee jerk reaction to the squad he inherited but ttime to build for the future.
4. Mr Bill Kenwright - for all the above and tolerating all the abuse while maintaining his efforts to steer the right direction. I salute you sir!

Gonna be one hell of a season!

{Ed025's Note - except for the moyes bit thats an excellent post nev..

Credit where it's due Ed, I know Moyes left a bad taste in the mouth when he left but Nev has a valid point. Moyes did steady a rapidly sinking ship and gave us our pride back. For all his faults he did a good job under difficult circumstances, it's just a shame he left the way he did.

{Ed025's Note - i dont do forgiveness RIB.. :)

Bitter and twisted to the last love it Ed 25. I'm still bitter about us being the big losers after Heysel. So many dreams and possibilities lost in one night.

{Ed025's Note - i know mate, i still believe we could have won the european cup with that side..

It's not about forgiveness Ed, I acknowledge Moyes ****** us over and I can't forgive him for that either but Nev has a very valid point when he says Moyes put down the foundations for the stability we now appear to have.

{Ed025's Note - my take on it RIB is that we dragged him from obscurity at preston and gave him the chance to manage one of the biggest clubs in england, we also furnished him with one of the top salaries in the country and in the end he shat on us from a great height, i dont think we owe him anything mate..

Great post and I agree on all counts, in particular with Bill. I'm made up with the way things are going for us long suffering fans, but I'm also really pleased for Kenwroght personally as he has had some undeserved criticism over the years. As much as moyes left under a bad cloud, he did bring us from the abyss to a respectable place and I believe he deserves immense credit for that. We played some great football too under him!

{Ed025's Note - and some right royal crap mate..

Ha, yes indeed Ed! I can't remember seeing that through my blue tinted specs though!

{Ed025's Note - some of it was dire pierrre but there were a couple of high spots i suppose, never against the big boys though..

You also make very valid points Ed, guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Who'd have thought Moyes would be Marmite?

{Ed025's Note - i think at the end most fans wanted him to go RIB, he done ok but could not move us to that next level but maybe that was down to lack of funds as well mate..

Moyes served his purpose and did well for us on the resources he had so I will acknowledge that. Unfortunately he's like the management version on Lukaku great but rubbish against the top sides
He did steady the ship though, problem is all the good work he had done and respect he earned he destroyed with the way he handled his switch to Man U and then by trying to poach our players!
If he hadn't done that I would have agreed with all of Nevs excellent post ☺️.

I'm with ed on Moyes. We stagnated for the last 6 years with him. His constant knife at gun fight mentality was disgraceful. Any manager with aspiration wouldn't talk like this.

He lowered Everton fans expectations to keep himself in a job. Can you imagine anyone else at the big clubs getting away with saying things like that.

Give me a Koeman any day.

{Ed025's Note - i just felt like the light at the end of the tunnel had been switched off john, we were going nowhere under his stewardship mate..

I know Ed. Can you imagine Royle or Kendall dampening expectations whatever the budget?

It's no surprise we won trophies with those two but none with Moyes.
